looks like a lot of guys are pretty excited for the new look that the 360 has to offer now. i'm glad that the 360 is finally getting a face-lift, compared to the wii and ps3. i don't know about the wii really other than their the first to have gamers experience with avatars (Mii), so that's where the 360 probably got their idea for avatars. and the ps3 also is coming out with their version of a new online community / dashboard called "Home", which has been in works since last year; before xbox's new dashboard. now undergoing a beta-testing stage should be available this dec., furthermore explains why xbox needs this update to get back into the "race" against the wii and ps3.
but since the 360 is in a rush to put out this update for their dashboard, usually when a good product is rushed bad things happen. which may led too for ex.: constant updates, live being shut down for repairs, etc... ps3 has been overlooking their project for almost a little bit over a year now, and the 360 seems they just came with a plan in the past couple months, before E3 this year, to present to the public that their still desirable gaming system.
Honestly the new dashboard looks like Mac OS, meets Wii, meets ps3 Home all rolled into one. their is no doubt in my mind that xbox 360 copied the ideas from the ones i just mentioned.
