Yep, it was a bestbuy.ca special, a compaq model, and there arent even any spots on the case where a vidCard would stick out of, nevermind the board which has got everything built onto it. the only expansion is for more ram, but as for expslots, nothing, nada, zilch. like i said, when I was without computer, i got one without thinking that they would build them with no way to add things on later. And taking a closer look inside, it seems to be a case that is made for certain boards, so if I bought another one, i have doubts as to whether or not the thing would seat properly, or fit, or have the holes line up correctly. BTW, pls excuse my lack of knowledge when it comes to terms etc. you all seem smart enough to figure what i'm talking about. *edit: thanks for the replies. methinks i will either blow my next paycheque on a new box, or take advantage of the interest free loan of up to 4g's to get a new computer through work. mmmmmmmmm........4 thousand dollar gaming system......
id love to but my mb doesnt have expansion slots. this thing is onboard. is there nothing I can do to play games that I used to play on a crappy old laptop?
OK, first off, my graphics are on board. Yes it sucks, but it was all I could afford when my laptop crashed. Second, I have a desktop, so when I search for Intel Graphics 8.15.10.2372 family, I keep getting topics that seem to reflect that this particular chip (chipset, potato chip whatever) is for laptops only. Third, even though my 6 year old laptop could play both HL2, MOHAA, and other games, my new desktop (win 7, 4gb,1tbhd) cannot. I installed MOHAA, it crashed. I installed Fallout3, it also crashed. My Question: Is there a setting that I need to change in order to make these games playable? I do plan on getting a new box with a proper card soon, but I cannot imagine how it is possible that my 60gb 1/2gb centrino laptop could handle HL2 and this new box cant. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
