Here's a Quote from SONY's Phil Harrison...

"Backwards compatibility, as you know from PlayStation One and PlayStation 2, is a core value of what we believe we should offer. And access to the library of content people have created, bought for themselves, and accumulated over the years is necessary to create a format. PlayStation is a format meaning that it transcends many devices -- PSOne, PS2, and now PS3." - Phil Harrison, SONY, December 2006 to Gamepro

To shut the door on nearly 115 million potential PS2 customers make no sense whatsoever ... why upgrade to a system that won't play your hugePS2 collection? But it will play your PSX games? Yes ... I still have PSX games (I play them on my PS2).

EVERY Ps3 should allow the user to free up the space taken up by the ps2, so you still have room foryour Wii60.

I can't wait to see the return line the day after Christmas when peoplerealize these won't play Ps2 games, evenwith emulation.

GREAT move Sony, almost asgood as packaging it with the AWFUL Spiderman 3. Good Job!

RIP (prediction for the PS3)
