Does anyone know if EA is finally going to bring Next-gen graphics to the PC version of Madden for the 08 season? or are we going to be stuck with last gen again
the choice all depends on which type of game play you enjoy most. Counter Strike provides a fast paced, but round based (meaning once you die in a round you have to wait for the next round to start) tournament style game play. It is a very well supported product that is also a very stable platform.
BF2 and BF2142 are conquest style games where you have to capture and control points where you have to hold the majority on the points until the other team runs out of points. In each of the games there are a number of classes you can play as for a different style of gameplay (ex sniper, assault, engineer)
 it all depends on you and which style of game you prefer
I like the Cybran, i think they're more suited for the mass human (unit) wave attacks where they send massive amounts of units at a time trying to overwhelm the enemy...in truth i haven't experimented with the different factions too much. But i do like the flying beetle gunship thingy they have
How do you think that gamepad/controller FPS are better, just by the controls... I think the mouse and keyboard is a more intuitive way to aim the guns, Who aims or walks around in only X/Y Axes? nobody...the mouse allows you to not be limited to X/Y and by allowing you to use the keyboard, more fingers can be used and more controls can be manipulated. On a controller all you can use is your thumbs and pointers most of the time...just my 2 bits
If you're going for gaming on a budget and like FPS's Counter Strike source or Day of Defeat Source are good games that can be had for around 20 dollars. They are good because there are a number of ways to play them...for example on Counter Strike, if you enjoy a good tournament style game, ala Unreal Tournament (which is a great game btw) you can play a specific server or map (fy_iceworld)... If you enjoy objective style FPS games requiring teamwork there are plenty of servers out there that play objective based maps where you have to bomb a target or save hostages... If you want some pure fun try a Zombie mod server where you get unlimited ammo and don't have to reload, thats wayyy fun cuz the zombies keep coming...
Half Life 2 was revolutionary in its technology and engine advances. I think the engine itself is one of the best parts of the game though, Counter Strike source, DoD source and all of those games are based upon the engine of Half Life 2 Plus who doesn't like using a gravity gun to throw toilets at people and stuff like that?
