[QUOTE="Ps3Solider"]i wonder if microsoft will be paying sony royalty fees if and when they do adopt the technology.. what do u guys think?magus-21Sony already pays MS royalty fees for using VC-1 for BluRay movies. Not quite. Movie studios choose the method of encoding and have to pay for the usage fees. Sony's movie studios have used either MPEG-2 or AVC on all of their releases to date. Warner has used VC-1 on some of their Bluray releases.
[QUOTE="ramey70"]Wouldn't the Sony developed games be safe?Spartan070Oh course, although you do realize that Sony devs never lay a finger on anything Squeenix right? Of course I realize that. But I was addressing this absurd claim by the topic creator........"None of your games are safe cows...none of them."

Compared to HD-DvD releases that really does look crappy, There isn't that many quality movies only for Blu Ray.
The second highest grossing film of all-time isn't considered quality? I said there were "not many" I mean look at most of the Sony pictures on the list... Closer, Blood and Chocolate, Curse of the Golden Flower.... stomp the yard.... cmon And Road Warrior and Donnie Brasco...[QUOTE="ramey70"]I'm starting to be amused by Vader's HD-DVD defense posts. I think he may actually believe what he's typing.-DarthVader-
blu-ray fanboys your format is relying on a struggling gaming console, standalone blu-ray players are not selling FACT.
The movie studios could care less what hardware is being sold. What they do know is that Bluray software is outpacing HD-DVD and pretty much every analyst agrees. You're also going to have try much harder to paint me as a fanboy. I'm a home theater enthusiast first, gamer second. I spend more time at AVSforums than here. I own the 360 and the PS3. I purchased the Toshiba HD-DVD player last summer. The writing is simply on the wall. I have no allegiance to either format but I'm also not foolish enough to think HD-DVD has a wing & a prayer at this point.[QUOTE="MattBrian"]ypu..you gotta be 16yrs old:lol:
