Most people don't own a HDTV....Why would someone want to pay a extra $200 for HD when they can't use the HD?

Nintendo knew that and made a system that everyone could afford

The core 360 is $299 plus $30 for component cables. That's only an $80 difference than the Wii.

Sony fanbois started to care about this crap and look where it got them.3picuri3
The 360 is also a HD capable machine, in fact it may be better than the PS3 in terms of gaming HD. It's doing pretty well for them.

I've never gotten the knock on HD from Nintendo supporters.   They can make a case that graphics aren't everything, which they aren't.  But wouldn't it be nice if the Wii did support HD graphics?  Would you really complain if it did?

Another question, why would any gamer want his favorite games to remain exclusive?   Wouldn't you want as many people as possible to enjoy the game regardless of their chosen console?

[QUOTE="ramey70"][QUOTE="m3Boarder32"][QUOTE="rage8669"][QUOTE="DazKurupt"]HD DVD vs Blu Ray specs : http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/415/2m3Boarder32

wow. that link is bs. first off, dual layer blu-rays hold 50gb, not 54 gb. second, buena vista doesn't support hd dvd because they're owned by disney. thirdly, disney does not support hd dvd.

Reign of Fire is from Buena Vista right??

Reign of Fire is on HD-DVD...

Reign of Fire is not on HD-DVD in North America.

So North America is all that matters in the format wars?:|

I think your logic is retarded, but regardless, i can still order Reign of Fire on HD-DVD, and it will play on my HD-DVD player...And i live in North America..

I think you and I both know that the average North American hidef consumer won't be ordering Japanese imports when they can get a Bluray copy of the same move in the states.  And it would be cheaper and faster by the time you factor shipping.

Why would anyone be mad?  If someone really enjoys the DMC series wouldn't you want as many people as possible to enjoy the game as well, regardless of what system they choose to play it on?  How does your gaming experience improve with the knowledge that a game is or is not exclusive to your chosen system?

Would Ocarina of Time been any less fun if it was also on the the Playstation?

Would Halo of been any less fun if it was also on the GC?

You get the idea....or maybe sadly some of you don't.

[QUOTE="Orpheus_1986"]beta was the superiour technology...look what happend to that liitle technological gem.henry_the_horse

Beta is a little different. Beta was better quality than VHS but it had less duration. So if anything HD DVD is the beta of the past because of its lack of storage. Blu-ray's much larger storage not only offers higher quality but it also offers more duration. So Blu-ray is almost like a VHS-Beta hybred in comparison; the best features of both squared and none of their flaws along with next-gen technology.

Betamax was also a proprietary Sony format and they hoarded the technology. JVC was very liberal with licensing VHS and made it easier for studios and hardware companies to use the format. Sony learned their lesson and have taken JVC's method with Bluray this time around.
