Mass Effect: The Future. What We Know and What We Want.

No Caption Provided

Mass Effect has to be one of the best RPG series out there ever. The franchise has gone through a lot of changes from a close to RPG Game in Mass Effect to a more Shooter type game in Mass Effect 3. The ending of the series has disappointed many of the fans but the past is the past and its time for the future.

Now, we know that the next Mass Effect is in development. We also know that it will be running on the Frostbite 3 engine the same engine used in Battlefield 4. The engine is more than capable of running next-gen graphics but could use a few updates and tweaks to make it bug free. Or closer to bug free at least. For more information on the FrostBite Engine click here.

Another thing that has been confirmed by BioWare itself is that the game will not be related to Shepard and the events that took place in Mass Effect 1,2 and 3. So you might here about the events or about Shepard but the game will not be affected by the original trilogy. I would say this is a good thing because it gives the developers more room to work with and gives old gamers a fresh start and be awed again by the world of Mass Effect.

Looking around the internet some rumors are being circulated which might be appealing. Again I'm not saying these are true but they have been coming up here and there on the internet. Some of the rumors are:

    • BioWare had a secret event for fans at PAX.
    • New Species will be added to the new game.
    • Some older species might get a cut.

  • You might have a choice to start the game with different races.
  • Customizing will be increased(Armor, weapons, etc.)

Though these rumors are quite vague but can very easily be true(or not). Time will tell. The concept of having a choice of which race to start with will be new for the franchise and a welcomed change. New species was quite an obvious change as having the same aliens around you would have become boring. I don't know whether some races will be cut and why? But if its true, damn!

Some members of BioWare have also stated that the new Mass Effect will go back to its roots of Mass Effect 1 and have you be a new comer exploring the galaxy. Sounds good to me, but BioWare better not have annoying MAKO levels again! :P

All the above information is just speculation and can be completely incorrect but until Bioware themselves don't give us any information, we will have to rely on this only.

Now for what I want from the next game. I want the new mass effect to be closer to the RPG elements of Mass Effect 1 and have the game-play closer to Mass Effect 3. I would love to see a new side of the galaxy hopefully in the future of the Mass Effect world not before the Reaper attack.

What would you like to see from the next-gen Mass Effect? Let me know in the comments.

Assassin's Creed: The Past, The Present and The Future.

In the year 2007, a game was released. It wasn't hyped much. People were excited but no one was giving it the limelight unlike a recent game being called the 'COD Killer'. Like seriously everywhere you look its Titanfall, but getting back to the point. Assassin's Creed was released and only after it was released did people realize that this game can be big, and I mean really BIG!

I remember the first time I played AC. My friend had bought it and only then did I even hear about it. Yes, I was that clueless about it. I never knew that this game would become my all time favourite. I played, and I played and I played. It was amazing. I felt like I was in that world, immersed completely. Obviously it had flaws. The eavesdropping before each assassination, the trailing, etc. It got kind of repetitive but the main missions were different enough to make me continue. This game had elements that no other game had shown before. Parkour, Hidden Blades, Huge Cities. It was a game changer.

Then came the most memorable, the most amazing, the most unbelievable game I have come across - ASSASSIN'S CREED II.

It had everything AC had but larger and better. City sizes that I thought weren't possible in a game. 2 HIDDEN BLADES. Italy, Leonardo Da Vinci! From the start to the end I loved the game. From the flaws to the things that made the game one of the best I've ever played. I still get goosebumps every time I begin a new story in ACII and watch the game title show up with the background music. OH MY GOD! I'm getting goosebumps just writing about it. This has to be my favourite Assassin's Creed game.

In 2010-2011, Ubisoft released AC: Brotherhood and AC: Revelations. Both an extension of the story of Ezio(the protagonist of ACII). These games included new game mechanics. Some a hit, others a miss. The new settings(especially Constantinople) were a breath of fresh air. Both the games were good, maybe even better than ACII but in my opinion, the way the second game touched me, non of these did.

Till now the franchise was going strong. People were more or less happy with what was being produced. Some complaints about the confusing story were being raised. Some said that the story wasn't making sense, others said that Ubi doesn't have a story and are just putting things in as they go along.

Then came the year 2012, the year in which Ubisoft just f****d it.(IMO). Assassin's Creed III. The American Revolution. Native Americans vs The British. Sounds good but the way it was executed made me cry. Good bye cities and hello stupid ass forests where you can fight bears. Yes bears. You gives a rats behind about fighting bears. No doubt the map was large, no wait, extremely large but majority of it was just grassland and wilderness. Even the cities were low-rise and nothing to behold. I know that the setting chosen had to be this because, well, America was being built that time but come on Ubi. Bears! Thats what you come up with? Easier fighting, an uninteresting character and still 2 hidden blades, made this game, the game I like the least in the whole franchise(Only the major releases, no add-ons or stupid additions like liberation). Even the Trilogy ending was a disappointment. A very big one I might add.

Ubi recovered some pride in 2013 with the launch of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Better than its predecessor but couldn't beat ACII or ACBH or ACR. Better graphics, decent enough story and better fighting made this game a step up from ACIII. They even added multiple pistols. One thing that I got sick of in the game was water, Too much water. I know, Pirates=Water, but still. Too much freakin' water!! Enough with the ships. Bring back land!

And they did. The recently released "trailer" was Assassin's Creed: Unity confirms that we will be back on land. French Land to be precise. And its looking good. No other information was released but from the "trailer" it seems Ubi is finally thinking straight. Lets just hope that they get the story right this time. And one more thing Ubi, please NO BEARS!

The New and Hopefully Improved Gamespot!

Well, as most of you might have heard or seen on the site, GS is changing, and from the looks of, its changing alot. I love gamespot. I prefer it over IGN anyday. It feels like home but now its changing. I really hope that the improvements are epic and knowing the people working on it, I'm pretty sure it will be goooood! Some changes I think that should(and hope) be there are:

1. More shows like GSNEWS, THE POINT, ETC.

2. Improved rating system.

3. Improved Profile management.

4. MORE EMBLEMS.

5. Layout( I know there isnt anything wrong with the present layout but something new wouldnt be bad).

I hope GS keeps getting better and I wish the whole team the best!! Thanks Gamespot for being so awesome and being such an important part of my gaming life!

The Efficiency War! Xbox One Vs. PS4(Maybe vs. Wii U)

The console wars have been going on for generations. We have gamers from all aspects of life fighting over which console is the best. Talking about this generation, we can divide the camps into 4 types of fanboys:

1. Xbox Lovers  xbox-one-420x215.jpg

2. PS4 Addicts

0.jpg

3. Wii U Enthusiasts (Sorry cant find any photo of them)

4. 'Guys both the PS4 and XONE are awesome' people

These people argue over the better hardware or the better games or the better controller and personally my favourite, the better name(Yeah, like whats the point). People never discuss one very important detail, something that does register that quickly. Its the efficiency of a console. Now, efficiency can be explained in many ways but what Im saying is 'how much a console can give with what it has'. Comparing all the latest consoles(just their specs), the PS4 has a lead but just slightly. The PS4 has 8GB GDDR5 memory while Microsoft is using 8 GB DDR3. Wii U has only 2GB of RAM so it is quite behind the pack. This puts the advantage with Sony because they have the faster RAM with a higher bandwidth.

Now taking our current gen as an example. The PS3 again is better than the Xbox 360 in the spec category but as we all know the graphic output of both the consoles is very similar. Some say the PS3 looks better while others go with the Xbox. Some say its the same, but we have to realize that the Xbox is generating those same graphics with relatively lower specs. Could this be the same case this time? Will the Xbox be able to create the same visual pleasure that the PS4 is aiming at?

In my opinion the Microsoft consoles have been the more efficient consoles. If Sony can some how start to utilize the maximum out of what they put in their console it could leave the Xbox One biting its dust but as the games roll out with gameplay these coming months we will have to see what happens.

Which Console do you think is more 'efficient' and why? Comment Below.

Thanks.......

At The End, Its The Games That Matter.

With microsoft finally coming to their senses and removing their 'always online' policies, the next-gen race is starting to becoming competitive again. I'm not saying that the Sony lead is no longer there. Sony is still leading but Microsoft has tightened its shoe laces and isnt quitting till the end.

In a recent blog of mine I wrote how the Xbox policies made me shift to the PS4 rather than the Xbox One, but last night(Im in India so it was night), when i got to know about Microsoft's announcement it really made me confused. I was happy that Microsoft finally listened to the gamers but I was confused. Now I didnt know if I should switch back.

The Sony console might be the better one is hardware specs but as we have seen in our current gen consoles, better hardware doesnt always mean better graphics. So this rules out the millions of people saying that just because the PS4 has better specs, its the better console. Thats just not true.

Coming to my point. The playing field has been levelled. The consoles have been launched. The specs have been improved. The controllers have been improved. The services have been improved, but at the end of the day it comes down to the games. I believe than in the next generation of consoles, gamers shouldnt choose which company to buy from but which games they want to play because looking at the consoles, Now the major difference is the games. Yes the prices have a $100 difference but its the games that count.

On one hand the Xbox has amazing exclusives like:

1.Halo

2. Forza MotorSports

forza5_gamecase_01.jpg

3. Titanfall

2495603-titanfall_logo_psd_jpgcopy.jpg

4.Ryse

5. Quantum Break

6. Metal Gear Solid V

7. Battlefield 4

8. Killer Instinct

and many more. They have come out with many new IPs and it seems like a bright gaming future but one the other hand Sony isnt far behind with games such as:

1. InFamous

Infamous_ss_logo.jpg

2. Final Fantasy

3. KillZone

killzone-shadow-fall-box-art.jpg

4. The Order 1886

5. Gran Turismo

6. Knack

and loads of other games that Im missing. GS has this next-gen war going on which the PS4 is leading by a large margin but today Ive seen that more people are opting to vote for the Xbox than before. Is MS a little to late to arrive at the party or is this the start to a winning streak of moves to clinch the title as the Best Next-Gen console?

Both consoles are amazing. Both have flaws but its the gaming that matters to me. I will most likely buy both the consoles because I find that the exclusives are very hard to choose between. Microsoft has improved its standing in the eyes of many gamers but Gamers are called GAMErs because that is what it comes down to now. THE GAMES!

CONFIRMED: Microsoft Reverses it Policies!!!

Its confirmed. News from Microsoft has confirmed that it has made changes to its policies considering the xbox one.

Don Mattrick, President, Interactive Entertainment Business posted just a few minutes ago that the following will be the changes in the policies of the Xbox one:

1. An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.

2. Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.

3.Region Locking of discs will be discontinued and all the Xbox One games will run on any Xbox One Console.

Finally Microsoft takes a very smart decision to try to come back in this Next-Gen race but is it too little too late?

The official news link is given below if you want to check it out.

Microsoft Reversing Their Xbox One Policies?

According to an article on giantbomb.com, MS is reversing its policies of online check ins for the Xbox one. This information is apparently coming from multiple sources from within Microsoft but the actuality of this is still up for debate. According to the sources, Microsoft is removing the once every 24 hour check-in. A connection will still be required for the initial game setup. Region locking of the games is also being removed and trading restrictions will no longer exist.

Microsoft has still not come out with an official report confirming these rumors but if they do turn out to be them the next-gen race is still not over. MS will be giving out some information today. Lets all hope for the best.

P.S: This article has made the giantbomb servers crash so I thought ill let some people know through my blog.
