Earlier on me and 3 friends decided to tackle the Halo 3 achievement ViDoc: Annual and although it asks alot and you don't actually get a Gamerscore reward we thought it might be a laugh. And to be honest it was a big laugh, I dont know if Bungie intended for this achievement to be alot of fun but it was, even though it ended up taking 2 hours to do because we went past the ghosts before the first time it was pretty enjoyable. I recommend giving it a try sometime!

Force Unleashed is my favourite solely single player experience game this year and it does the Star Wars franchise proud even if the ending to the game (both) were a little bit of a letdown but it's cool how they interwene Starkiller into the story. I bought PURE as it was pretty cheap but admittedly haven't played it much due to excessive Halo 3 play, multi-team with a party full of 8 friends is about as good as it gets, fun, competitive and again just a laugh it reminds me of how good online gaming should be and not what it actually is. I may get Lego Batman next week and that about raps it up, i'm sure you all loved this update :D!

I'm back at school so i'm gonna be on here now for less time which is awful news i know. But now i usually devote my time to playing games as i dont have as much, but il come on occasionally for a while.

I'm also searching for a Gears of War faceplate but they've been discontinued and the ones on ebay are a rip-off to say the least... any ideas? If not i'll just wait to see if they release any gears of war 2 ones or something.

I bought mercs 2 its an alright romp i suppose, gamespot is pretty accurate with its rating but it doesnt really detract from the fun at all, i'd give it less than 7 but above 6 if you're in coop. I got my gold cross on cod 4 the other night :D

Hey everyone, I just spent quite alot of time writing a new and improved Dead Rising review, if you wouldn't mind taking a look and giving me some feedback on it I would appreciate it alot :D! I am aspiring to be some sort of games journalist if i'm lucky enough so I thought i'd write a late night 3AM review to get in some practice hehe.

If you;re lucky enough to be on my Live friendslist you may have seen that I am actually playing Dead Rising again, and what for? To save all those bast**ds and answer all that annoying f**kers calls for a measely 40G. And after John Steed's recent ramblings I didn't think it could get any worse. Some ungrateful fat guy mutinied a quarter of my survivors because i forgot to give him food in the security room so I lost a good hours work because I didn't save the game, and when i say a 'good hours work' i mean a frustrating and annoaynce filled hour of pure annoyance and frustration. I don't know why i'm bothering but, i will hopefully have the achievements by Friday! Nothing else to say really, laters!

Well i already know the answer to that i guess, but for some reason i got banned for 3 days recently and lost 20 precious percentage points to my never ending metal slime rank, suicide was contemplated several times. All i did was absolutely shred this guy who wrote the most pointless, incorrect and stupidest Braid review i have ever seen. He said Braid was just a 21st century super mario bros, that lacked in every department. I can't begin to describe how wrong he is so i just sent him a vulgar message :D. For a start Braid is a puzzler platformer, it shows reminiscent similarities from the super mario universe as a JOKE, he clearly hadn't even bought the full game either, just played the trial game and judged it in 3 minutes.. This is something I really hate, one of my best friends judged games in 2 minutes, and it just annoys me for a few reasons, such as the fact he'll miss out on a great game, he doesn't give it a chance and he won't give the game the credit it deserves. Something that just annoys me about people like the guy who wrote that review, and to be honest i'm glad i got my point through in the end, although i did go over the top hence my severe ban. I probably won't catch up on blogs now until people write new ones because of the stupid new blog system and I can;t be bothered to go snooping around and find everyone...

I played the Force Unleashed demo and i liked it, although i can see it getting repetitve constantly but i'll probably buy it, finish it a few times and just sell it ready for Fallout 3. I think I have planned out my list of games i'll be getting in the holiday season. I will buy Mercenaries 2 and Force Unleashed in September and then only Fallout 3 in October. For my birthday on Nov 1st i will get, or pre-get i suppose guitar hero world tour and all the instruments and a much coveted gears of war 2 limited edition, i ain't gonna be teh n00b without the gold lancer ftw ;). My guitar hero 2 controller recently has had problems so i think its time to upgrade to a new, more modern guitar, it has lasted my severe shredding skills for 4 games so i'm not too bothered really. Then I may get CoD:WaW and then i'll leave any other games for my Xmas list. I'm sure you all really care but i dunno what else to write about.

I am so confused right now... what a pointless and unecesary update this was. Yeah, way to lag things up and ruin the site Gamespot, Kudos. I'm sure this is going to aggrevate many people me reckons, I predict some people leaving because of this, maybe?

Nothing much to report, I might do a 5 things you didn't know about me blog soon. Might aswell show you the arrogant, sarcastic, disliked and legendary being I am then.

It takes too long to insert pics on here... but it's done now. Photobucket is an awful system, why not just an insert any picture from file option, makes much more sense, and it isn't stupidly complicated. Someone please tell me why :D

My not even a year old HDTV just bit the dust :(. Warranty still covers it so i'll get it replaced or fixed soon enough so it doesn't really matter I guess. I didn't realise how much difference HD makes until i plugged in my old tv and was extremely disapointed by the awful quality. I don't think I can really enjoy games now until I get it back, it made alot of difference. My advice, don't go HD unless you can stay HD, because it doesn't really matter until you play for a week in High definition then there's no going back :P.

I bought Braid, everyone is going on about it and i'm sure you've seen what i think about it in blog post comments so i'm not going to write anything about it. Also bought Soul Calibur which is great, one of the two game genres I loathe are beat 'em up and RTS, i still hate beat 'em ups but i like soul calibur because you have a big sword and hit stuff hehe. Although online is about as much fun as being licked to death, unless you're winning. The fighting communities online are awful, you know what I mean, those sad japanese guys who learn all the combos and know all the unblockable attacks who 'can't bear to see a loss on their record' as polsci once said are pretty pathetic really. Also bought BF without knowing conquest was apparant and it makes a ice change from call of duty 4.

Hey, i'm still slightly knackered due to the fact I got no sleep Saturday night at my mates outdoor party, me + camping = no, although I learnt, me + alcohol = yes! I've recovered abit now though. I don't really know what to write about but I didn't want to leave my beloved public without one of my fantastic blogs so I thought i'd begin a debate/discussion/argument or whatever you wanna call it.

Anyway, as you can probably tell from that little card to the right and down abit, I am definately not a stranger to achievements. But whether that is a good or a bad thing is up for debate.

The good points: For the completionists out there they can really add to the length of a game. Certain achievements can prove how skillful you are at a game and can take time to get e.g. Mile high club and Seriously ... They give you proof that you have done something on a game and can entice you do redo a campaign on a harder difficulty for bragging rights etc. I can't really think of many more good points but, there are plenty of bad ones!

The bad points: People become addicted to them, even I did when I first got Live, as my old pal Atillite and others will remember i'm quite sure. This leads to people becoming obsessed with them and forgetting that the point of gaming is to have fun, not get the highest gamerscore or the most achievements. The people who gamesave and take it too far and make the real gamers look like fakes. The fact there's a whole other sub-culture of people who care so much about achievemnets they'll set up boosting sessions for them etc. I can't believe i used to do that *shudder*. The way people buy games for gamerscore, and game developers add ridiculously easy achievemnets just so people will buy their bad games, and then people do actually buy them like the idiots they are... The way the whole system is kind of corrupt, gamerscore is more of a show of how much you game then how good you are, thankfully not in my case.

I'm sure you can add to the lists I quickly made on the top of my head. What do you guys think, achievements, good or bad? More help than hinder?

I just looked on the top 10 viewed games on the homepage and to my absolute disgust I noticed that Metal Gear Solid 4 had a perfect 10/10 rating. Are Gamespot having a laugh? That game is far from perfect and so is GTA IV, how did that get a 10, yeah it was really good but it lacked in quite alot of the online department and the story had some technical issues. I don't see how you can give a game a perfect score, whoever wrote those reviews needs to be kicked in the lower abdomen several times while being suspended from a flaming pelican. perhaps polsci will have one, he seems to have a few rare pets.

Have you recently noticed that the usually unfriendly scum that play on xbox live have become, well lets say, even scummier. I think the main game we can blaim is a certian 'Call of Duty 4'. Trash talking on games is half the fun of playing them don't get me wrong its just that there should be a limit to what people should say. Disrespecting someones skill, gamertag, motto etc. is a bit of fun but when people start to say they're going to kidnap and torture your family I don't see the funny side to it at all really. For some reason whenever I play a game od CoD4 there is ALWAYS an argument going on. Why is this? It makes Halo 3 seem like heaven. There was never this on gears of war or CoD3 so why is it happening now? I think there are two main problems: 1. Little kids who aren't even allowed to play the game, playing loud music and just generally winding everyone up with their squeaky pre-pubescent voices, who likes that. 2. Those jobless, early 20 year old thugs who do nothing but play CoD4 all day long. They just take it to seriously. They always seem to get into a UK vs. USA war too, what is up with that. I have no problem with the gys across the pond, so why do other people? I don't care about the war between us i've heard about 50,000 times it doesn't affect us. 3. The people who get mardy when they lose. I gotta admit it's funny to wind them up though :D, even though I don't like it when I get a taste of my own medicinal insults. I think I kinda drifted off track abit but my overall message is still clear. Why the hell have the people on Live suddenly got 10 times worse to play with. I don't eben like playing CoD4 unless i'm on chat or my mic is off because I know i'll end up in a pointless argument with some 10 year old punk whistling the latest R'n'B tunes. This is why Live should not be free, it would bring legions of little kids on who can't usually afford memberships and the union would detereorate once more. How many of you agree with me?
