I think that after all the hype on recent hard-core released games such as MadWorld, Deadly Creatures, HOTD:OK, and soon to be released The Conduit passes out, we will start to see some news about Red Steel II. So, what it needs to be a great game? I really liked a lot of aspects of the first one and hated others, overall concluding that it is far from alluring, but it's a good game, used by me to refresh the mind while playing truly engaging games, most of GameCube.
This list includes something I'd like to be added to the sequel, mint improvements, things to be addressed, and cool things that I want to stay as it is:
-It could be a sandbox FPS, using some sort of Chinatown as the main scenario, inspired by GTA and BioShock;
-A woman in the leading role;
-Base all the artistic direction on the comic-style of the cut-scenes from the original, it's a lot stylish;
-Graphics to be cel-shading graphic-novel-like, the best way to dribble the hardware;
-Regular online multi-player;
-Online improvements with something original (e.g.: interacting with other users while in single-player campaign);
-Boss fights!;
-Weapon upgrading and merchants like RE4;
-Control tuning as we all saw in The Conduit;
-A map;
-An inventory;
-Not the S shaped missions we have in the original, as I've said, open-world gameplay could fix this;
-I really liked the voice-acting and like even more the soundtrack, wants more of this Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon worshiped musics;
-Mixed gameplay, with cars!;
-1:1 sword-fighting;
-More weapons in the mode above (e.g.: mace, flail, nunchaku!, knife, axe, hammer, etc...);
-(more ideas...).
