Guys, gals, all I want is a city simulator thing like GTA, except you can play how you want. If you want to run a hot-dog stand to save up money to pay off your mortgage and put your kids thru college, you can. Ok maybe not that far.

I do not believe what they say, realism does not = no fun. The more realistic the more fun. It only becomes dumb when you implement it poorly or without regard for fun. I.e. I would much rather have to load up my cars trunk with guns, and have an inventory, than a wheel select for an entire arsenal of guns like 20 guns on my dude at all times.

An example of realism done wrong is GTAV, where you have to go into a store, and go to EVERY single rack to pick out some clothes and it takes forever... just put me in the change room like in the previous games wtf. That is realism done stupid. A changeroom with menus is realism done right.

So yeah I wanna better open world game and I don't think R* or anyone for that fact will deliver. If you want to follow along development, look up 2050-NEO-GTA on indieDB, bookmark it... weekly updates.

Currently in the concepting stage, have models and gameplay down the pipeline. You could call me a noob but I'm not like just starting, I have at least 10+ years of 3d modeling expertise, and I can code and stuff, use paint, whatever.

Also being an indie gives me the flexibility to shoot for an AO or R rating from the outset.

If you think it can be done, check back weekly 4 them free updats always.

Homeworld 1 is awesome, but it's a 1 time play thing i.e. 10-20 hours. so get it on sale.

I wish for so much more of the GTA gameplay. I don't like just doing missions, I want the world to be much more interactive and lively.

Which is why I'm going to make my own. Look up 2050-NEO-GTA on IndieDB and bookmark it, updates every week (still early in dev).

Cause lets face it, R* will never make a hyper immersive GTA, it's always goign to be very gamey. GTA4 was the closest we will ever get.
