Here is something you should have incuded in this article, and you can check it (or could have found it in the first place).

According to the Polish Law, specifically art. 44 Polish Copyright Law, if there is signigicant disproportions between license royalties (Sapkowski recives) and the revenue from the licensed product, then the author have rights to ask for additional payment.

So Sapkowski acting under the law. Of course 16$ mil is too much, and the real number will be decided at the court, but inculsion of this fact in the news is crushal.

Second of all, according to the Sapkowski layer, he only sold rights for only one videogame, not two, or three, but one. The license also did not include any addons or branded merch. So it looks like from the law point, CDPR used property, they don't have license for, for a long time, and had a lot of cash, which they din't knew, or didn't wanted to share.

Do you even do proper research before writing news?

But in fact, if you watched the original video (and he says in it exactly what I'll quote a bit later) of Crackdow destruction, or if you read news (means did research), then you would know this: "That was an example of the kind of thing you could potentially use cloud to do," Jones said to Eurogamer. And the other thing, in which you present assumptions as a fact/news, you say: "Microsoft executive Matt Booty STRONGLY SUGGESTED that Crackdown 3 will no longer use the Cloudgine technology, presumably due in part to Epic's acquisition of Cloudgine.

And the you have a chance to quote exactly what you assume, but he never said this as a fact, and you know it by saying next: "Booty avoided the question"

But some of the Jones words dissmis your false assumptions, you, for some reason present as a news: "There was a bunch of technology that Cloudgine developed for Crackdown," he said. "How that gets used, I don't know. Ultimately that's Microsoft's decision. But that depends on cost - there are many factors on that. I was really just there to show the potential for the cloud, and then Microsoft would keep working on that depending on how they wanted to surface that."

So there is definitely more complicated situation, and neither author, or me knows everyting, but I'm not lying at least, and know a little bit more.

Here is another thing you should know: Microsoft told Eurogamer the technology created with Cloudgine and Dave Jones "is the foundation for the Wrecking Zone mode of Crackdown 3". "A sincere thanks to Dave Jones and the Cloudgine team for their work done in partnership with MS Studios to build the cloud-powered technology in Crackdown 3 from scratch," reads Microsoft's statement sent to Eurogamer. "The development of Crackdown 3 is not impacted by Epic Games purchase of Cloudgine".

P.S. I'm not defending the game or MS, don't really care about Crackdown 3, and think it will be mediocre. But I do care about proper journalism, and I hope you won't get paid for this particular news, because you can't get your facts.

It's not only about number of active players, you should know that it's also about the traffic Fortnite has, and in that case it would be interesting to campare Fortnite, in terms of traffic, to, let's say, Facebook. Now this will be a great comprassion, not simple and obvious one you made in the article.

You've talked how fun it was just going from point A to B, and getting into different scenarios. All this small details Rockstar puts into the game, like different player animations under different conditions, and the world that reacts to your action, including new interactions with the NPCs, plus live consequences, reminds of the old quote from Chris Avellone. "The most important thing in games isn't the designer's narrative, but the story the player creates through his experiences".

So I guess Rockstar are smart developers who knows the history.
