Big in Japan

Japan shook and I'm shocked. This time the big in Japan is not for good.

Back to gaming stuff I'm going to start Okamiden, YAY… Can't imagine I've got my hands on this game at last. I'm planning to start a 24 hours endurance race the day after tomorrow. I hope Yamauchi is well now but how the hell I should finish this. Both B-spec and A-spec gets to a 24 hours race and I'm kind of stuck there. Fortunately I've the X2010 RedBull car, that's awesome.

I hope all people in Miyagi prefecture return to their ordinary life as soon as possible and they never experience such catastrophe again.

RROD... again

rrod achievement

Unfortunately I encountered RROD for the third time. This time my Elite xbox 360 died. So I'm out of gaming on xbox for about a week and I'm concentrating more on Gran turismo 5 for now. Nothing too say more here just that I'm going to upload some images of photo mode in Gran turismo here, that's awesome.

A friend named Pelican

Pelican

No this is not about vehicles in Halo, nor birds in gulf of Mexico and BP oil spill. it's just about a friend who resembles this bird. But his face is not important, what's important is weird incidents about gaming.

First if you've played gears of war series you know holding A button is sprint. He finished the first gears of war without using sprint because he didn't find out there's such ability. How could one kill Berserker without sprint?

Second again GOW stuff. He boasted would be the first one to finish the game in area but stuck in the water boss in gow 2 for months because he didn't know how to kill the monster.

Third in call of duty world at war in the battle at the entrance of Reichstag he died 1024 times and the game restarted after that,. That's about 8 hours of consecutive try and fail.

Fourth he insist optical drive is much faster than Hard disc drive, such an egghead!!!

Fifth he has won 200 ms points and think this is because his fanboy like gamertag. Such an xbox fanboy who's never played an original xbox game.

Sixth he's proud of never touching a Playstaion branded console. A disgusting fanboy.

Seventh I hate when the guy in RE5 said the name of the game, but this buddy tells everyone silence I want to here the "cool" announcement. Just an idiot I think.

Eighth and last he says I'm desperately in love with "this man", and guess who is this man? Yay Marcus Phoenix.

Unfortunately this blog can be updated daily. There's tons of stuff I'm not gonna write it here, cause it's make the blog unbearably long. What's your opinion about this buddy?

MAG: a Must Avoid Game

MAG

Finally after all the bells and whistles MAG will be available on stores. As a former fan of game I have to admit it was fun before the open beta but once it became open to all… MAG showed the real weakness behind the idea. This game is a good example of how a great idea goes wrong. Mag is not Massive, it's Messy. For 128 it was awful, I can't imagine how it is for 256 players.

From a Must buy it's a Must Avoid game for me now, coming at the same day with Mass Effect makes the game even more forgettable for me.

I miss the real funny MAG a lot.

In the land of FREE and the home of BUGS

psn logo

With more free times, now I appear more in PSN and XBOX LIVE. Since Uncharted 2 is double cash for a limited time, I'm usually playing it.

I've got the demo of Bayonetta. Though that's a quite short demo but made me believe that this game is a must buy. I don't think God of war or Dante's inferno would be that fun. Enough with xbox live. I'm gonna say more about PSN.

I'm sure all gamers have heard the rumors about premium membership:evil: and cross game voice chat is just one of the premium options, what a "free" service, that's why I named my blog Land of "FREE".

Now let's get to the "home of hmmm… BUGS or BREAKS for the sake of rhyme". I'm not a heavy HOME user, but the more I use it the more I hate it, just like Vista. Sony has changed the main square to a Christmas night and for me the main square is no more. This is not the first time for me that I've got a problem with Home am I'm pretty sure wouldn't be the last time either. Home is beta of course but I think sony should call whole PSN beta:P. Google "portable ID problems" or "DNS error" if you don't believe me.

The last disappointment about PSN stuff was the GT5 demo, downloaded it with lots of hope and finally that was kind of meh… I'm not a fan of Forza or GT but Forza is absolutely better in any or at least many aspects.

Good things about PSN, yes there's a lot for me. Above all is my cool friends and MAG beta. This game is the real online gaming experienceand would be one of my favorite online games.

Finally who agree with GS about GOTY? Demon's soul?:!: I've got more to say about it maybe in another blog.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

Which generation is the best generation of video game history?

First generation of video games started by Magnavox and ended with the revolution of PCs like TRS-80. I think this period was a little raw, unpopular and consoles were not at all user friendly. I can't consider this generation the best one.

Second generation shines with the name of Atari 2600. Colecovision and Intellivision were other major players. First third party developer (aka Activision) created in this generation. With all these hypes second generation is some sort of disappointment. End of this generation was the start of a disaster, first video game market crash. Lovely 2600 VS the biggest crash, what do you call this generation? Good or bad?

Third generation introduced the savior of video game industry, Nintendo. Sega was another newcomer. Most of popular franchises have started at this period. First mass market handheld (Gameboy), CD and 3D gaming are achievements of this generation. But this period comes along with down fall of arcade machines due to the power of home gaming consoles. Not bad, a generation to remember.

Fourth generation was a short period without any major effects on game industry. This era was dominated by Nintendo, though the console war gained a ground. This area was the starting point of polygons. Who cares?

Fifth generation, Atari ended and Playstation entered. After a long dominance on industry, Nintendo feels the danger again, though it's still number one in handheld market. 3D and CD reached to their ultimate level in this era. This period was the start of a new market, mobile games. The first one I remember well.

Sixth generation, you likely remember these times. The giant software manufacturer, Microsoft entered the battle here with Xbox. Nintendo failed again. Sega's swan song (aka Dreamcast) put an end to one of the most famous console manufacturers. Sony was the real king of this generation. With the help of Microsoft and Sega online gaming kicked off here practically. I missed Sega a lot. Long live PS2!

Seventh generation is start of a real rivalry in handheld market. After so many tries and fails by Sega, PSP defied Nintendo in market, though still no match for DS. Nintendo made a bold move and WII has returned them the crown. After two successful consoles Sony is struggling for survive and Microsoft is moving steadily. This generation makes online gaming a must, but library of games decreased dramatically. Worthy of "best generation" title?

I can't decide which one is the best, what about you?

I've got Scribblenauts... AWESOME

Scribblenauts

at last I've got my hands on the full version of Scribblenauts minutes ago. for now I'm in tutorial level 05 so nothing to say for now. from graphical aspect it's just like Drawn to life, but for gameplay... I'm going to see what it's got.

i expect this game to be a serious candidate for Game of the year.

Made it to Level 20 & now Metal Slime...

Metal Slime

So after spending about 1.5 year of my "precious time" in beloved gamespot, now i'm on level 20. Is it soon or late, i've no idea but just simply happy about that. Game spot helps me alot and all i can say is... THANK YOU ALL GS GUYS AND MY FRIENDS HERE.

Lefties vs righties in video games

You are lefty or righty?

How can it affect your gaming experience?

lefty or righty

Apart from guitar hero, many Nintendo ds games and some others, all the games heavily depend on right or left side of the controller. Apparently you have more control over your main hand's fingers. So do you think playing a racing game (it's all about steering with left analog stick, isn't it?) is easier for lefties? Or as a righty you will beat an even match in a call of duty game because you are more precise in aiming?

My brother is lefty and perfect in racing games, as me for shooters ( I'm righty) is it by chance?...

I think a gamer naturally uses its main hand more in gaming, like me. When I play GRAW, I use my right hand to press directional buttons, so just left analog bumper and trigger for left hand.

Don't you think being lefty or righty has affected your gaming experience?
