Agreed. They should really start making good games again.
WoW is good. actually its fantastic
WOW is a dumbed down, simple MMORPG, with a very pretty opening cinematic, and the Blizzard name slapped on it.
You should get your head out of your rear because at the time of its release there weren't many MMOGs that were more complex.
I know you must think WOW is complex since it must clearly be your first MMORPG, but maybe you should at least recognize that Ultima Online, Dark age of Camelot, and Everquest were all way more complex than WOW. Do you have your own houses in WOW?
If WOW was complex it wouldn't of sold as much as it did. It really catered to the casual gamers.
i agree that wow isn't that complex, but why does it need to be? it's not the only MMO out there ya know, if you don't like it's simplicity then what you need to do is plain and clear, don't play it. go play eve online, that's complex, or so i hear anyway. i got so bored after going through the tutorial of that game that i couldn't stand to play it for another minute. the thing i like about wow is that a casual gamer such as myself has a chance in that game. not all of us have 8 hrs/day to dedicate to a video game. so it's nice to have wow as an option!
When was WoW suppose to be complex? It was meant for casual gamers.
I talked to various developers on this issue. Either A) They are going to stick with Dx9 for several more years to get the majority of sales, or B) Go to OpenGL because Dx10 is narrowing the market potential for their titles. Believe me, even the king of 3d graphics (john carmack) has no care for Dx10 right now. It is the least cared-for API in DirectX's releases. MS wants you to care for some strange reason.. wonder why.. it just comes down to you being an idiot and have no idea why you need it other than someone tells you you have to have it now. You're a consumer, and Microsoft will get the $$$ out of your wallet to obtain a useless iteration of DirectX 10.
