if it was true that changing something in one reality would not effect any of the other possibilities than killing dewitt at the baptism would only remove one comstock, one elizibeth, and one dewitt from existence while the rest of them would continue to exist in their own dimensions. the same way saving the younger elizibeth had no effect on the older elizibeth that gave you the note. killing that one dewitt wouldnt effect every comstock and elizibeth
