What kind of 'special research' would Microsoft possibly do on a discontinued 360? It's a current generation video game console, not a glowing space rock.

it was kind of a joke ...friends of mine have had serious problems with all kinds of xbox 360's and my xbox, i can garunteed, had faaaar more hours put into it.

This might be a factor: within 5 minutes of opening the xbox on the launch date, I was holding it trying to figure out how the memory card flaps worked. In doing so, i forced the flap the wrong way and broke it clean off...basically leaving a hole... effecting the cool-down rate of the machine by decimal degrees. Far fetched? maybe.

p.s. its closer to a glowing space rock than any other xbox ive heard of

Its a good idea to take advantage of this promotion. I am having so much fun trying to fill this puppy up. I also had to reserve mine so if you end up having to check and see if the deal will still apply to you if you have a reserved one, that was my quesiton.

the promotion applies to anyone- reserved or not, who trades in an old 360 (in store credit obviously) for the Slim

well i sold it and a few other things cutting the bill in half. i sent an email to microsoft/called them about taking it for research because the average life of a 360 does NOT seem to equal the cost of the item. I suppose it would be stupid to assume that microsoft DOESNT want people to pay them for repairs/new systems...if my xbox DID have some sort of advantage to the rest, they would put it in the furnace before they duplicated it, hah!

I called the microsoft corporate office and got as far as the operator, a person fluent in common english (i was trying to get connected with someone who has the slightest involvement with xbox). I explained her the situation, and that calling 4myxbox was irrelevant. She then directed me to wehelp@microsoft.com -according to her, thats how you get help/contact corporate. Then I said "thanks a lot, this might help becuase since you outsourced the support line to india, all i get now is indian accents" she got pissed at that and said "WHAT DO INDIAN ACCENTS HAVE TO DO WITH IT, THERE ARE MANY INDIAN ACCENTS HERE AT THE CORPORATE OFFICES, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT" i told her "ive never gotten help from the support line, only indian accents" she told me "thats just your opinion AND THATS FINE" I have a bad feeling she may have been the recipiant of the email i sent, they responded VERY fast suggesting i just sell my xbox to gamestop. laugh out loud.

I guess she never called the support line and heard that crap, hah!

however, recently i called 4myxbox and was glad to hear someone fluent in recognizable english for the first time in a looooooooong time, always a great suprise

i would say reviewers too harsh for crackdown 2? is a trick question, any review-as long as its within 10 pts of the review for UFC undisputed would be appropriate. i got the last issue of game informer magazine and saw reviews/previews for crackdown 2 and ufc undisputed.

I saw this and told my little brother...look at these games...

crackdown 2: what does the police force of the future need?, you need a super armor upgrade...and all the armor will need to glow with blue lights...now you and your team want to jump all over the city like of troop of silverbacks- and the option to deliver justice "JUST LIKE NEO FRUM THA MATRIX!!!!" with a metal bar that you just ripped out of the ground using your anti-criminal rage matched only by the red-white-and-blue corsing through your veins.

ufc undisputed? i just hear those three letters and my white-trash senses start tingling. self explanitory.

so far, our level of white trash exictement is OVER 9,000!!!!....it gets better

then later that night my buddy is having some friends over to watch a pay-per-view UFC match. I dont follow it but UFC and Joe Rogan have never failed to entertain the white trash in me...the opening scene shoots ----UFC brought to you by CRACKDOWN 2 blah blah...I look to my brother and say, now...justice is truly served. I would never play the game, but i pray there are armored monster trucks.

I have an Xbox 360 with a manufacturing date of 10-24-2005. It has been played for countless hours (im guessing thousands) online and offline by me and me two brothers without ever having the slightest problem. I waited in line for 12 hours outside of a Circuit City in Pennsylvania and have never needed a repair.

Now i want to sell it to gamestop for a new xbox only because the quietness, best wifi, and ginormous built in hard drive...but before i do that would it be a good idea to see if microsoft wants this relic for special research? or would that be futile...

I want to get the trade in bonus before the deal is up so I have to act quickly...
