Are we really ready to go HD with games?

Now before i get started i will say i have no HD TV in my home, and my experience with HD is very little, but i will to talk about HD. Also i like to point out that i own an 360 and Wii, so no Fanboy comments will be said in this paragraph.

Since the Launch of the Xbox 360 in November of 2005, Gamers were shown extreme looking graphics for the nex-gen system, but the only problem was in order to see those extreme graphics you must own an HD TV, or you get not 100% clear graphics although still pretty good. The PS3 came it it was built with the HD/Blu-Ray player in mind, not regular TV. The Wii came and there was something that they did correctly, still focus on regular TV and not made the step into HD. Wii did the best thing nintendo could of have done, made a system that looks great no matter what kind of TV your on. Hd TV are really expensive and the Tiny cheap ones dont look as good or cant go into 1080i resolution. Stanard Def TV still sell and most people still have some, but why are companies making the jump into HD when Standard Def still has two years left before it goes Digital? Cant they build a system that was meant for Standard def but could go into HD if they wanted to, instead of the other way around? They wanted the leg on on the competition, but its failing do to the fact that people are going to buy Wii for it's cheap and runs perfectly in 480p. I think that once HD TVs sell alot more than Standard Def, and most people have them in their Household is when system and game developers should heavily focus on HD games and not now, Give me Bioshock that looks Amazing in regular Def and High Def with no difference in either one. Give me Crysis that can be played even on the xbox 1 if they needed to. Valve is a company that still makes game for graphics cards that should of been replace with years ago. Once People have HD TVs is when i will officialy acknowledge that there is a race against systems because then there will be 3 HD systems in one race instead of 2 competitors in the HD race and 1 running unopposed in the Standard Def race. Besides, in the time when everyone has an HD TV, The system developers will have a new system out anyways and everything will become out dated. That will be a race, but if the next Zelda looks like DMC4 by then nintendo will still win, and sony might be able to come back, but until then ill stick with running my HD systems on a Standard Def TV, even though deep down i know it would look a whole lot better in HD.

2007 game fo the year plus 2008 at a glance

Well 2007 is almost over and this has been the year of the gamer. We had some hits, total let downs, and things that just didnt make the cut of a great game. For me the Games of the Year would have to be The Orange Box, Bioshock, Super Mario Galaxy, Phantom Hourglass, and Ratchet and Clank Future. The OrangeBox get an award for it has 5 games for 50 bucks, thats a steal. It has the best story driven game of all time, i.e. Half life 2. It has the flat out best puzzel and song ever in Portal. And great mulitplayeR Team Fprtress 2. Bioshock wins because it has everything you can ever hope fore, and its the only game where i get scared whe i hear the happy song "beyond the sea". Super Mario Galaxy wins because its a great sequil to Super Mario 64 and it brings back the platformer. Phantom Hourglass wins for it was the only handheld game i played it, andit was amazing. Ratchet and Clank win for i threw PS3 a bone, even though its a dead system. The Big upsets was only on game Assassins creed, it sucked. And the game that didnt make the cut but was a good game was Call of Duty 4. While alone it was a great game, it didnt live up to the first HD call of duty game, even if that game was a WWII game. Cant Wait for '08 for in that year we get Super Smash Bros Brawl, Grand Theft Auto IV, The unoffical release of Gears of War 2, Good Wii games and 360 too many to name. If sony doesnt get their act together They will fall. Happy Holidays everyone.

The downfall of the PS3

I have been a gamer sionce the release of the Sega Genisis, and i have played every system that has been made in America. I know what makes a game good and what makes it bad. I know when i good system has come along and when one fails to comparasion. Look at the PS3 it looks like the perfect HD system. Can get great graphics, looks nice, plays blu-ray, good internet compatablities, and has sone good games in the works. But the downfall began with the fact that its a great HD system but horrible with standard TV. 360 and Wii are next-gen or mid-gen, run well on both TVs, while the PS3 doesnt. The control sixaxis, sucks, it has horrible sensativity, and the games where sixaxis is ment for suck, like Liar. The price is too demanding, the lesser version that are cheap have good stuff that i missing, and the thing itself looks like a PC, too big for a console. Is there any hope of making this system good, or will Sony fail and playstation is no more. and one more thing, if i hear something that basically means they take take back what they said before about the system, i will scream, ex. Sixaxis and the Duelshock 3.

The Halo movie gets unknown director

Im a gamer and i hate when crapy games are made into movies.   Most of the movies sucked, and when i heard doom was beening made into a movie i thought it was going to be good until i saw it and i al most cried for the didnt base the movie completey off the games.  Well my wait of a good game movie may be over.  Months ago they said the Peter Jackson (King Kong, Lord of the rings Director) is producing the Halo Movie.  I got excited, and just recently the named the director, and tentive release date.  Well it is some guy that has done some short films and i saw some of them and they look good, even though i might not get them.  So far the Halo movie is schudule is going to br release in 2008, so im and looking forward to it.

PS3 and Nintendo Wii- No contest?

Well this Holiday season will be a close race between Sony's Playstation 3 and the the Nintendo Revolution (im sorry i ment Wii) are competing. The nintendo revolution will be less or equal to 250 dollars and 1st party games will be 50 dollars.  The Playstation3 will be 600 dollars and the games ranged between 60-100 dollars.  Well we now the PSP white wont sell even with or without their horrible racial advertisment.  The DS is ghetting more games and plus they are cheap.  This holiday season will be the one were Nintendo will come out on top.

E3 everybody!

Well E3 is now over, and it has been a great year.  Nintendo Released new things for the Nintendo Wii, as in how it works, what games are in development for it, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl was released.  Microsoft showed new games for their 360, and Sony released more info for the PS3 as in the launched date and games for it, but i really don't care about that.  I belived after all that was over, Nintendo Owned E3 this year.  With the wii and how well it drew a crowed, and how many people were satisfied with it, it won.  Sony and Microsoft had good points like MGS:4 and Halo 3 Trailer, but it failed in comparison to Nintendo, LOZ:TP, and every thing for the Wii.  it has been a great year for every body and next year will be even better, but i predict that Wii will kick Sony's butt when the PS3 and Wii is released.
