I don't get why Galaxy 2 isn't there also. I mean, just seems like it should be given Galaxy's inclusion.

Imo XBOX already has access to most of the worthwhile FF games on the online store lol.
If we're being fair: Astro's Playroom is basically tech demo software, and Miles Morales is also going to be available for PS4.
Gravity Rush 2 comes to mind
As Playstation games go, definitely Gravity Rush. I never played the second one, but I consider the Vita "this gen" pretty much. I never understood why that series didn't get more love.
@Archangel3371 said:Three under appreciated games off the top of my head would be:
- Killer Instinct
That really did turn out to be a decent fighter. I picked KI up earlier this year and was surprised at how it snuck past me all this time. I think the initial "free to play" approach of the game where you bought individual fighters scared people away a bit. But I'm glad I gave it a shot. The story mode is even kinda fun lol.
My Picks, off the top of my head:
- ReCore
- This game brought together the man behind Mega Man and team members behind Metroid Prime. I think what held it back was that the game's budget was kind of low, and many early complaints were addressed in the updated release. What's there shows promise - and feels like it could be built upon as a great new series.
- Dead Rising 3
- Killer Instinct wasn't the only XBO launch game that got overlooked. DR3 might be my favorite Dead Rising game, it was a blast to play. And on top of the game and its story expansions, there's the wild remix DLC that turns the characters into parodies of everything Capcom.
- Bleeding Edge
- I get that the market for team-based character objective games is a bit oversaturated right now, but I'd really like to see this game succeed. Made by Ninja Theory, it takes a different approach by featuring mostly melee combat and a third-person perspective, but includes an augments system for customizing characters to different play styles. Right now a lack of content is the main thing keeping it down.
- Battle Chasers: Nightwar
- This THQ Nordic game, based off of a comic book series, makes a surprisingly decent turn-based RPG. It has been said that the comic's story works better in the game format, and honestly THQ Nordic did a great job of retaining a lot of the series' style. The battle system features an energy called "overcharge" that can be used in place of mana, and the game takes a lot of battle, overworld and map systems from different games to design something pretty original and great. If any game deserves more praise this gen, this might be the one.
The classic NES version and the Nintendo DS versions are the only versions worth getting.
@Black_Knight_00: I wasn't trying to promote the promotion or anything like that, I wanted to examine it because I felt like it was an interesting blog topic that kind of fell into my lap.
It might have been a better idea to speak to game promotions in general, and make comparisons to other video game product promotions over the years. I am no journalist, however, and I simply only had the time to speak about this one I am familiar with. I might have mentioned the GameFuel, Slurpee and BK promotions Halo has done in the past, but I don't even remember them that well and I missed out on most of them. I did touch on the way a lot of other brands such as Mega Bloks are cashing in on Halo Infinite with their exclusive codes.
Anyway, I had fun writing it. Hopefully something I discussed or talked about was interesting to someone else that took the time to check this out.

I actually never had issues with either 360 I owned.
I got my first Pro console in late 2008, I was told by people at the time this was shortly after internal improvements had been made to the 360. I upgraded the HDD to an Elite HDD, so I was probably one of the few people that had a white 360 with the higher capacity storage. I went through a lot with that one, bought a lot of doo-dads for it - like the wireless adapter. Had that console until I guess mid 2010? Thinking back now I guess that wasn't a long time lol.
In 2011 I got the revised 360 with the built-in wireless and the kinect. Again, never had any issues with it. I can't remember how long I owned that one. Maybe until 2014 or so?
Actually just thinking about the 360 makes me miss some things about that era. I just started messing around on Toy Soldiers again the other day! lol. I'll probably fire that up again in a little. Been thinking about playing through the Costume Quests again too. But there's so much you just can't get back to from a decade ago.
I do think the 360 controller looks horrible nowadays (is That really what I was using??), and the plastic they used really discolored on a lot of systems.
@Willy105: Wow, I had to look that up. I honestly don't even remember if I had a 360 memory card.
Yeah Idk, that proprietary Seagate card sounded pretty expensive too. If it works with the Series S then I will keep it in mind, since that would be a pretty easy way to expand the low capacity of that SSD for next-gen games.
That would be pretty far down the road for me though. I think. I guess it depends on which games come out exclusively for the Series and which are still available for One.
For me, graphics aren't the be-all, end-all. I consistently find myself pleased with things other people are dissatisfied with. I had tons of people tell me at the beginning of the year the XBOX One S All-Digital was crap and to go get an XBOX One X. Neither is still on the market, but I went with the All-Digital like I'd planned. I only paid $100 for it and am absolutely pleased. I think knowing yourself and what you need and could care less about is great, not just for gaming but in many aspects of life. Just because nobody else can see the value in something doesn't mean it's bad.
