reyad-u Blog

Just started playing Valkyria Chronicles and I gotta say, I'm Impressed.

The title basically describes my whole blog .

I've been meaning to buy that game a long time ago, just never got to around it, and I've still got a a handful that I need finish. I just inserted the game into my PS3, and it's obvious that the developers has put time out to put care and love into their work. I've just started the second mission, and believe me, that doesn't take much more then 10-15 mins (there's a handful of videos to watch in between). It's already obvious that each of the two main character is more then just two dimensional, they're humans.

I know I've already said this before but I just believe how much charm there is in this game, everything, from the game mechanics to the graphics, characters to the settings. It's just beautiful, and I'm only 15 minutes into the game. I think this will be a good two week Easter holiday for me :D.

Let's all say no to Nintendo

Well I just read this article and apparently some time ago, a British politician made a comment, a comment which most people would now come to expect from this people. Apparently games were the result of "ignorance, underachievement... and poverty," to young kids, and well, oh what the heck, I might as well copy and paste what he said:

"It is about time, as a society, that we admitted the catastrophic effect these blasted gizmos are having on the literacy and the prospects of young males," Johnson wrote in The Telegraph.

"Millions of seven to 15 year-olds are hooked, especially boys, and it is time someone had the guts to stand up, cross the room and just say no to Nintendo."

Now, I may have stopped playing Nintendo games since I don't have a Wii, but if I'm not mistaken, Nintendo usually makes family games and if they haven't, where the heck have I been for the past few years? :|, Because I honestly can't remember.

For those of you that didn't spot the link, quite hard not to, you could read the full article here.

Finally went online with my PS3 plus I built my own PC

Finally started to get my gaming life more in line. Started off by buying a gaming PC which I built, made me a happy little man. Specs in spoiler.
Q9550 at 2.83GHz, planned to clock it to 3.4GHz but I though 2.83GHz is enough for now.

4GB Corsair RAM CL4

250GB HDD, didn't need a huge amount

Gigabyte P45 MoBo

Arctic Cooling 7 Pro

Pioneer DVD drive

Corsair 550VX PSU

ATi 4850

Vista Premium 64-bit

CoolerMaster CM690 case.

Should be enough to last me until next year.
Since I got it I stopped playing my PS3, just couldn't be asked but I recently set up my router so I decided I might as well connect my PS3 for the first time.

Names Hunting-Beast, wanted ThatGuy but it was already taken  but I'm good with HB :).

Just got myself a PS3 (60GB)

Wasn't planning to get a new console this early, I have exams the next few weeks, so getting a console isn't the smartest thing to do. In fact I was planning to get a Wii first and then get another console (360 or PS3) around December, preferably 360 because of Tales of Vesperia. However, I just couldn't pass up on a 60GB with two controllers and Pro8 for £225.

Decided to buy Uncharted and Okami, need to catch up on all the PS2 games that I've missed out on :D.

I am now licensed to hit and run...

Other ways of saying it would be "I am now licensed to drive" :P

Passed this morning, didn't tell anyone in my family that I had my test, better off leaving that out just in case ;).

So... 9.37AM was my test and I passed with only 4 minors :D, and then I spent the rest of the day annoying the hell out of my mates, "don't talk to me like that, thats it, you will never get a lift home from me".

Flame of Recca

Just read the manga, finished it right now actually, and I gotta say it's one of the best I have read :D. Yea some... well actually quite a few parts are cliched but other then that they story was great, it really immerses you. The artstyIe isn;t so great for the first few chapters but after that it becomes top notch so I don't have any complaints there.
The only downside for me was the ending. It ended in a happy note, something I really wanted to happen but at the same time knew that it shouldn't have. The story really becomes sad from the last few chapters and even though you want everything to be alright it kinda fits in if it ended in a sad way.
If you're into anime or manga then I recommend you read the manga, goes further then the anime (no duh) and the artstyIe improves greatly. Thats all I have to say really :).

My rathing: 5/5

Bad day at work

My bloody manager was acting like a absolute idiot today, and he took a fair amount of it on me. Wanted to take a swing at the guy, I really did but I thought I've only worked here for 1 and a half months so I better keep quite for now. What made it worse was that my mate made me laugh half way which just pissed him off even more.

I stood my ground, who wouldn't? I just wanted to say a whole lot more but for someone who is still a beginner getting into an argument wouldn't be the best thing to do.

The thing that really ticked me off was that he told me to stay behind and clean the whole damn place all by myself after everyone had gone home. So when I said that 'm not doing anything like that he tried to rgue but I cut him off and finished it off with "why the **** coming after me for? its not like I was the one who pissed you off."

His answer? he just gave me one long hard look and turned away trying to act like he's not bother by what I said.

My Bday is today :)

I'm 18 today, could have created a blog earlier but i had work :(. I remember my sister waking me up at 12.05AM and telling me my neice had something she wanted to tell me (shes 2 BTW) and when she took the phone she was singing "happy birthday...", i was so surprised because i completly forgot with all the things thats been happening this week. so im just happy that someone remembered and told me :D.

Is there a such thing as evil in this world?

I didnt actually type this up now, i just copied it from another thread i created a long time ago (still my work)

Please dont take this too seriously.

my question? here it is? is there a such thing as evil in this world?

one way to look at it is yes. evil does exist. killing people no matter what the reason is evil, raping a person just because you can is evil. necrophilia, paedophilia and cannilbalism could all be considered as evil. amirite?

at least that is what we were taught to think. but if you were to look at it from the top and not from a persons perspective you can see that evil doesnt exist nor will it ever exist. confused? lemme help you out on this.

some of you might have read harry potter right? remember the first book, voldy says "there is no such thing as good or evil, there is only power..." remember that? i hated that quote. i hate quotes that are uncomplete and that one simply screamed out "unfinished". because anyone could say "well what about rape? isnt that evil?" the answer would obviously be (according to that quote) power. the rapist had the power and there is no other reason, good/evil had niothing to do with it. but the answer doesnt give you a proper explanation does it?

so after a while i looked into it and had abit of brainstorm (no not really) and this is what i came to: "there is no such thing as good or evil, there is only power... which may lead to cruelty". and IMO that answer pretty much answered all arguements that came to my head (no matter how sad it made me feel). rape, cannibalism, necrophelia etc are all a form of cruelty. you could say that they are evil but to do so would mean you are only looking at it from the victems POV ad the reason for that is the way we were taught. the way socielt taught us (although there is nothing wrong with that).

pretty much all "bad" things could be described as cruelty no matter how harsh it may sound it does answer alot of things but at the same time leave you with a cold feeling.

i would have went deeper with this but im not currently in the mood so i'll end this with two more lines.

There is no such thing as good or evil. There is only power... and it may lead to cruelty".

thoughts?

P.S. this is not what i personally feel about these things but rather how these things could be answered if one was to go to that extreme.

I'll say it again, please do not take this too seriously. its not my opinion but its just something i thought of, something im sure we all do at one point, think up random things.

RE: This is hilarious

Just been digging through some of my old blogs and i remembered this one, and i realised that more people need to read this for a laugh. so i preseant you mens rules:

1- Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We
need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you
leaving it down.

2- Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

3- Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

4- Crying is blackmail.

5- Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints
do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work!

6-Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

7- Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it.That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

8- A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

9- Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

10- If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.

11- If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

12- If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

13- You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it
done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it
yourself.

14- Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

15- Christopher Columbus did not need directions and neither do we.

16- ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit.
We have no idea what mauve is.

17- If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

18- If we ask what is wrong and you say \"nothing,\" we will act
like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth
the hassle.

19- If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.

20- When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine..........Really.

21- Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared
to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or monster
trucks.

22- You have enough clothes.

23- You have too many shoes.

24- I am in shape. Round is a shape.

25- Thank you for reading this; Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the
couch tonight, but did you know men really don't mind that, it's like
camping.

Pass this to as many men as you can - to give them a laugh.

Pass this to as many women as you can - to give them a bigger laugh!!

EDIT: i never actually wrote this i found it in some forums.
