I have the same issue, my fix was to plug it in through one of those light switch type outlets. I would have to turn on both the xbox and the hard drive when using it. I eventually just do what it does and said whatever.

I honestly haven't been playing my 3DS's much as of late as I haven't had much gaming time. That said I'm 43 and have way to many game systems, but I have kids so it's ok to blame the systems on them. What types of games are you into and I might be able to give some suggestions if you're just starting out with the 3ds.

If all else fails you could take it to a third party shop and see what they would charge you to fix it.

Having both a PS4 and an Xbox One, honestly they are pretty much the same graphically. As to whether the PS4 or the Xbox One games end up being better, that depends on which way of coding a game the developers ultimately feel more comfortable with. You can technically be more powerful of a system (PS4), but if no one likes or wants to code within your development environment you wont end up with a better game than the competition. Also, using blu-ray disc size for an example.. bigger is not always better. Yeah the capacity grew in leaps and bounds but so did the sloppiness of inputting resources if you ask me. If the disc were not so big (PS4 powerful) developers would have to trim the fat more and streamline their products which usually leads to a better performing game. Personally, (and again I have both) I prefer the Xbox One simply because I do. Regardless if the PS4 has a slight advantage hardware wise I don't really care because it feels better gaming on the One, I.e. the controller the online environment, the achievements, the system in general. This is also coming from someone who believes that "fun" is completely relative.

Purely on looks I'd get the Forza console, but then again I like the game so that's a plus as well.

@Solaryellow: You do understand that not everyone can get a good solid high speed connection in their area. Also, with a good connection comes cost and it's understandable that a lot of people either aren't willing to get or can't afford one just to play video games. I have a pretty good connection at around 100mbs down and I still find it irritating when I need to download updates that are between say 7 and 18 gigs or so. Now looking at two of my siblings, they can't even get anything over like 10 or 15 mbs down in their areas so what would it be like for them. My last sibling honestly is lucky if she could get 3mbs way out in the country where she lives, so it would suck to have to move so her kids could enjoy gaming. So we go back to before games "required" you to even have internet.

I would respond with my thoughts, but i'll just point to this post I made a while back on the same thing. Honestly we could go back and forth, but the bottom line is that I have a ton of consoles with well over a thousand games that didn't need to be patched. I played them, had fun with them and all with no extra coding needed. Back in the other post it was also said that patches were few and far between, I would disagree as since then I've put in several games that required big patches again... and again. Maybe if you're someone who only has a few games that you play constantly it doesn't seem like there's to many, but if you have a "collection" of games it seems you're on a never ending cycle of updates. Thinking back, Jasonguy you made the same comment in my thread "oh so you like broke games?" No the answer would be, no we don't like broke games which is exactly what you buy now a days which is why they are always being patched. I like games that are not broke, don't need to be patched constantly because they were done right and complete the first time. As I said then, sadly we all know it can be done because Nintendo still does it to this day.

I voted No, I think Microsoft should buy Sega. Nintendo really wouldn't benefit from Sega beyond Bayonetta. Sony wouldn't because they already have established franchises that compare quit favorably with Segas lineup. Microsoft is missing this whole area almost completely and could afford to. One would have thought that buying Rare would have helped, but then MS basically made Rare focus on very un Rare games. I think it would be interesting to let Sega fill the holes MS has in it's lineup as well as give Rare a chance to work on some of there IP's like Sonic.

If he likes Dark Souls 1&2 then I'd consider Lords of the Fallen as it's in the same vain just a easier. Other games that should be in anyones collection that had that criteria would be Batman Arkham Knight, Dragon Age Inquisition, Witcher 3, and Metal Gear Solid 5.
