Just about had enough of sony now.
Im trying to make my sony purchases (psp, ps2 and 3) worth the money I paid for them on launch. Lets face it these are very overly priced video games consoles. Wait, did I say console? What I meant was entertainment system. A console implies that it does one thing and one thing well so it aint a 'games' console so maybe I cant complain because playing games it certainly doesn't.
1. Not had my ps3 on for a while but when I do turn it on ive got an update to dl. No problem, ill play some of my xbox live titles or another game while I wait. Two hours later im still 23% to go and I have a really fast net connection. I went through all my port forwarding to see if that had reset but no, Its still pf'ed and the only thing downloading. Ok. So I play a bit of my DS, space invaders, oh how I love the retro and finally I see 98% (40 mins later) so I sit and wait and doss around on the net looking at F1 stuff. Finally. Update complete, . . . . Now installing . . . . FFFFFUU . . . .sigh!
Put in killzone 2 just to play the online (although im not a big fan of the game, the multiplayer mode is pretty innovative here) wait, update required for this game . . . oh. My. God. This wasn't so long, about 30 mins I had to wait. I started to play blue dragon and try and just get that mad level 98 – 99 achievement, hell anything is better than just sitting there waiting to play a game.
So I thought. I know ill give the psp a whirl, whack that bad boy in, whack in the ac adapter thing starts up, put in all the correct date and that (yes its been maybe a few weeks since I turned it on) then Im like reet. Ready to go. Put in my newly purchased LBP to see if its any good (love the level design on this game, its flawless) you must update to version 6 to play. No problem. Went through all the red tape, clicked next, "battery power too low charge the psp and the update will continue (to which I found out has to be over 50%. "Oh you mothe . . . . "!
