Decided to try it for myself and installed the demo on XP (dual boot) and switched the info in the cfg file. Playing both, I can say that they look so similar that it's a toss up as to which is best overall. There seems to be a trade off for either one though.. In XP I had much higher FPS, but things seemed to pop up in front of me sometimes.. Not objects but textures, as if they were switching out for higher res as I got closer. But it was hardly noticable. Also there seemed to be less color, but it may have been my imagination. In Vistas things looked a bit sharper and seemed to catch light better, vegitation was more reflective in the sun etc.. But the game ran a bit slower at Very High, still playable however. Given this, I'd probably play it in XP, or maybe tweak Vistas a bit to increase performance. I figure this "hack" will be disabled in the retail copy so who knows. System is: Core Duo 6600 3.4ghz (OC) 8800GTX 768mb 4Gb ram Vistas Premium 64bit XP 32bit

If you can afford a Crysis PC, you can afford Vistas. I've been running it now for two weeks and havn't had a single problem other than finding where things are, which is kinda fun.

I bet they remove the ability to "hack" the XP version and get very high quality.
