I've adopted and bought pets and the same goes for any of them. You need to make sure you know what you are getting and that you are aware of any health problems the animal might have. The logic in adopting animals is that there is a widespread problem of people not neutering or spaying their pets which leads to overpopulation. But, you aren't going to know the animal's breed lineage and health history, and could be in for a huge heartbreak if something goes wrong. Rescuing a pet is a little better than adopting one that was a stray, IMO. And either way you go, you have to make sure you know what you are getting and that your new friend is healthy (or that you are prepared for any emergenices which may arise).

[QUOTE="river_cheri"]If the universe is a computer simulation, how come it doesn't hiccup or lag? Why hasn't it restarted? And why not shut it off and start again when people start to think it is just a computer simulation?mingmao3046
maybe their computer is so powerful it can handle as much data as is in our universe. things like glitches may exist, which could be things such as black holes and paranormal things. or maybe we just don't know enough about those things yet. And why would it matter if we found out? maybe that would make things more interesting for our observors

Is it possible that a computer could ever exist that could handle all the data in our universe? I don't know if that technology would be feasible at all. Black holes have a scientific explanation and paranormal activity is usually debunked. Why would it matter if we found out? Would you act different knowing a camera is on you 24\7?

I've kicked around the idea of buying a pre-built desktop or building my own to hook up to the TV and play games on. Outside of that, I probably wouldn't use it for much else. My iPad works fine for pretty much everything.

If the world became one country, then third world countries would simply be put in the same category as run down, crime ridden poor American cities. Problems would either stay where they are or get marginally worse.

Consoles have had different controls for decades, and some of them have had some pretty wacky controllers (Intellivision, Atari Jaguar). A strong source of innovation in video games is the controls, and to put out a universal layout for all games would ruin that innovation. Even if there are some strange, often difficult control layouts, there are more innovative and amazing ones than lousy ones I'm sure.

Super Mario Bros 1&3 for just being wonderful, simple, and imaginative. Sonic The Hedgehog for being stylish and technologically amazing. Super Mario 64 for its 3D graphics. Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, and Grand Theft Auto 3 which took game storytelling to a more cinematic level. The Guilty Gear series. I love the character design and gameplay. I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them right now. These are certainly the ones that have stayed with me for the last couple of decades, like any good works of art.
