For fans of South Park who don't buy the Herald Sun in Victoria, live in another state or another country read this.It is a article that I have typed up from the Herald Sun's Wednesday TV Guide that had an article on South Park. Here it goes:
One reason South Park is so good is the united front the shared vision of the creators: Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
"Me and Matt love to argue" Trey says. "But in general our humour is pretty alike. Matt says: "We never have that problem where I want something one way and he wants it another". As ever their surrogates in this enterprise are Cartman[Trey Parker],Kyle[Matt Stone], Stan[Trey Parker] and Kenny[Matt Stone] are four bratty bundled up youngsters in an unhinged Colorado town.
From August the 13th 1997 was the day that crude and rude started."Instead of being crappy"Parker says "we decided we better figure out how to make it good".Season have flown by. "It's only been in the past two years that I'm thinking we might be here for a while" Stone says. Now Trey aged 37 and Matt aged 35 have signed a deal with Comedy Central for 30 more episodes in 2008. "We're the guys who if someone says you really shouldn't make fun of Scientology we say 'whatever' Trey says."Someone says they might come to try to burn your house down,we say 'We'll get another one".
"We never try to be cynical"Matt says."I think we're really opttimistic happy people and the show to have an optimistic message".
Trey adds: "It's not like we have a formula but I think one of the reasons this show has survived is that it has a big heart at it's centre.Other cartoon shows have people crap about on each other and make racist jokes. But I don't think people tune in just for that.I just don't think a show lasts for 10 years without a heart".
