while the 8800 GT is a good card, that's what's holding you back. a Q6600 at 3ghz is probably not holding you back at all in any way. my Q6600 is at 3ghz and the FSB is at 1333 i had a 8800 GT for like 2 years and i just sold it last week. now i have a GTX 260 maxcore ocx i play at 1680x1050 i plan on keeping the GTX 260 for at least another year....then i'll get a good bang for the buck DX11 card

Would guys suggest going 64-bit then? I do have external 1TB drive where I could save my files.deiviuxs
you don't even need to put your files on an external drive. as long as you don't tell windows to format, it will leave your non-windows files alone.....even if you do a clean install.

i wouldn't do an custom install unless i absolutely had to people say upgrade installs will be messed up and cause problems, but i think that is TOTALLY overblown. most people will be fine.

Go 64 bits, you'll get full use of your 8bs. In that case, you'll need to formatMonsieurX
you will not need to format no matter what you do. even if you do a clean install, it won't format your drive unless you tell it to....and your old windows will be put in a folder called windows.old

you can upgrade 32 bit to 32 bit but if you go 32 bit to 64 bit, you need to do a clean install....which means you'll need to reinstall ur programs

Okay, It seems it's not a problem with FireFox, or Chrome, or anything like that. It is a problem with my broadband connection. My internet provider seems to be slow. I went on Speedtest.net and it shows 14.mps for download, but there was no Upload test.

The tech support doesn't know how to run a upload test despite being a technician. Obviously, they will send a repair man who doesn't fix because this is the 5h time I called. They diagnose it as being the computers fault, or update to the speed. To prove them wrong, I need a legit, or good website that shows what i upload speed is.

speedtest.net does download and upload tests

you're probably fine for at least another year.

but..things you could do:

overclock cpu...i myself have a Q6600 at 3ghz

i had a 8800 GT too....but sold it and got a GTX 260

you might need to upgrade your power supply if you upgrade your video card though
