Lego games, on console they have 2 player couch co-op, not sure about on PC. Lego city Undercover is actually pretty good, large open world city, lots of secrets to find and unlock. Kind of like GTA, but you're a cop and it's all legos, so no bad language or blood.

I have to agree with Blueresident87 on Condemned 2. It was a great game. The others that I can think of go into either sci-fi or horror. Deus Ex the original and human revolution, vampire the masquerade. I'd even throw assassin's creed syndicate up there as it portrays 19th century Victorian england and the game also has several missions where you investigate crime scenes and solve murders.

BioShock and deus ex are good because they're adventure/FPS games, so they're slower paced than pure shooters. Borderlands series is a good one as well, especially since it can be played split screen or online coop. When I was deployed, we used those games to get some non gamers into playing shooters. After playing that they were able to play COD at a decent skill level.

I downloaded the ps4 free version (which is the base game)over the weekend and finished the campaign yesterday. Once you beat that there's plenty to do, strikes, raid, heroic quests, patrols, etc. Each planet has patrols ad nauseam, which are quick little repetitive missions. There's also the crucible for PvP.

To play the forsaken expansion, you have to own the 2 dlcs, which according to the threads on gamefaqs , the first one sucks and the second is better. Pricewise, buy the destiny 2 season pass to get the 2 dlcs, as its about half the price of buying separate. Forsaken also has it's own separate season pass also.

Bottom line, if you plan to play it daily, there is plenty of stuff to do, but the game is designed to be a grind for better gear.

Since True Crime is mentioned, add Sleeping Dogs to the list, as you play an undercover Hong Kong police officer. The game was originally going to be a True Crime game. For the most realistic police experience, the old Police Quest games, still available on GOG. The games required you to use police procedure to get through the scenarios you encountered. For open world games, I'd also suggest Lego city Undercover.

I read some of the reviews. There's everything from the glitches and bugs, which are justified, to the reviewers who are tired of zombie games. It sounds like the game is in need of optimizing for the load in problems and I'm sure there will be day one patch, since nearly all games have them.

Cherry picking a review in progress and one that gives the game a 75, to make a sky is falling, anti xbox post is very mature. By the way, according to ign, games that score over a 7 are still considered good. For 30 dollars, I'm not expecting the greatest game ever, but to still have fun. I paid 49 for Conan, and the game is a mess, but im still enjoying it.

@jun_aka_pekto: I remember Sentinel Worlds 1: Future Magic. I think my first RPG was Wasteland, followed by the First 3 Ultima Games.

The xwing games and Free space games are on GOG. There's some others on steam, Starpoint Gemini 1 and 2, Evochron Mercenary and Evochron Legacy, Void Destroyer. As someone else said Space rangers, but it's not a first person simulator. Freelancer wasn't bad, back in the day.

@mattom34: 7 Days 2 Die. It's zombie apocalypse themed, but has base building and survival.
