Personally, I'm still more inclined to play Oblivion. I agree that Dragon Age is quite impressive, but it's really linear as far as exploration goes. In this day and age of free-roaming and do-what-you-will gameplay, it felt like a step backwards. Though the story is much much better, and there's a lot more to be done and decided upon, I just can't get past the feeling of being told where to go. I like to find my own way through a game. A lot of my disappointment stems from the fact that Bioware developed the NWN franchise, which, in my opinion, is a masterpiece of role-playing games.
Merits given, Dragon Age will last longer as far as playthrough, but Oblivion's open endedness reigns supreme.
They're both cheap, why not just snatch them both up?
