The 7950GT is better.

If you get the eVGA 7950GT, you can use the step up program to trade it in for an 8800GTS within 3 months of purchase.

DX10 vs DX9? Well it depends what card... and even if you don't have Vista, the 8800s wreck in DX9 games.

Thanks alot Hiryuu, I had heard about the step up program but i forgot about it, woohoo EVGA!

I am in the process of buying a new rig and i have some questions about the GPU i'm going to get.

I'm going for EVGA card and am trying to decide between the 7950GT or 8600GTS and possibly the 8800 GTS(Not sure if i can fit the extra $$ into my budget).  any thoughts on these GPUs and which one i should get would be great.

Also I was wondering just much better DirectX10 is vs DirectX9. Worth the extra cash?

Thanks

I got the parts from Cyberpower... and the case, speakers, network card, monitor... that would be my guess as to why it cost so much more... and I know that this rig would be overpriced compared to buying the individual parts of newegg or another site but then theres the assembly part of that
