game updates. are they good?

with the patch update for ea sports mma, i was thinking to myself, is the update really good or does it ruin a game completely, like it did in ea mma. now i do admit that some updates are good, for example the ufc 2010 updates on the stats are really nice. jon jones who nobody used is now one of the best fighters in the game as he should be fighting for the belt in under a week. but a update like the one in ea where it completey changed the gameplay, the devs of the game said they wanted to control spamming. now i know where they got this from, the fans, and yes i believe the biggest part of the game is the fans, but when it comes to a sports game and you open up forums to let the fans help you with the game you are going to get allot of people who tend not to be good at the game and lose by the spamming. now i do lose to spamming but there are ways to get around it. i love the updates for games like assassins creed brotherhood where you got to play on new maps and new game modes and in the latest update you got a new assassin to play as but...you had to pay for that assassin. and there is another con to the updates some updates you can buy like a new fighter, maps, outfits or levels. the biggest problem with this is, say you take a arcade fighting game like mvc3 and update with new fighters, not every player is gonna be able to buy these fighters so it makes the game unbalanced and ive seen the gameplay with jill valentine and she is one of the top fighters in that game now so they are making their own games unbalanced with the buyable updates. what do you the gamers think about updates? are they bad for games? do you think they all should be free?

paying for demo's?

with the success that capcom had with their prologue to dead rising 2;dead rising case 0. capcom released a statement saying that they will keep on doing this for all their major titles. they said we will look at this on a title to title basis. one could only assume that means every major title. so u should be expecting to pay at least 10 dollars for upcoming titles from the successful franchises that capcom has produced over the years such as street fighter, mega man, resident evil and so on. now i do admit that case zero but to do this more often really tarnishes that great idea. and i dont about u but i dont like paying for my demo's, i like to play the demo's to see if i will indeed be buying that company's game. and with this being capcom i surely will cause they hardly put out a bad game. with all this said i would like to hear what u guys think
