Just for the record, if anyone searches for this and wants a solution - here's how I fixed it.

I plugged the wire into the controller so that it was about halfway in. The light came on in about 30 seconds, so I pushed it all the way in, and it has worked great since.

I had a Play & Charge kit with a white controller that worked fine. I bought a black controller, tried the kit, didn't work. I asked for a black Play & Charge Kit for Christmas. I plugged it in, no light comes on the cable. The controller works when plugged in, but every few seconds, it does the low battery blink.

Any help?

I've had my system for a couple years, only ever had the occasional freeze/disc read error.

Now I can't finish a match in FIFA or COD without it freezing.  This has been going on for about a week.  It's driving me nuts.  No red rings.  What can/should I do about this? 

Called them-the woman had no clue. She said try a new AV cable, which I did.

I even tried setting it to TV instead of HDTV (with the yellow/red/white wires in, of course) and the screen was just black.

I can hear sound though.

I have the GameStop warranty and of course the Microsoft 3-year coverage now. I'm not sure what to do from here.

The lighting/contrast/textures in all of my games and on the dashboard started to get messed up all the time...like very dark and not detailed at all, almost like some kind of Photoshop filter...

I tried different component cables and all I saw was white lines on the screen.

I plugged in my old cables and the same thing happened as the new cable.

Now all I get are white lines.

Is this my console? The wires? Perhaps the wire port?
