[QUOTE="roboccs"]

I just heard of this game in the last few days and I tell you what, I am really considering buying it because it actually sounds like a great baseball sim even though it's cartoony and kiddy looking.

I read the review but want to know from some actual non-reviewers:

1. Is the gameplay somewhat realistic or is it really arcade-like?

2. Is the computer really easy to beat or are the games/seasons really competitive? Can I take a team like the Tigers and take them through a standard season?

3. Is the success mode any good? Can I take a created player through a season?

4. If I was a fan of the MVP or Triple Play games from EA would I still like this game? Do the kiddy presentation take away from the game at all?

Sorry for all the questions but I really think this game could have some GREAT possibilities.

Thanks

1. The gameplay is realistic it is one of the best sim games out there nothing arcade-like i.e. "The Bigs".

2.You can choose from three difficulty settings, and feilding is tough. Not the easiest baseball game I lost my first game 4-0 on the second difficulty setting and I am usually really good at baseball games played alot of them.

3. Haven't really gotten into success mode yet. And yes you can create a player get him through college ball and build him to be the best player in the game.

4. Yes you will love this game if you were a fan of MVP baseball very similar in terms of sim aspect. And I would have to say the characters actually make the game more interesting because the gestures that they do are real life gesturesof player very fun to watch.

This is a great game I love it and it is as in-depth of a baseball game you will ever see you can literally tweak every aspect of the game it is awesome!

Agreed, I was skeptical as well. I am a huge baseball fan. Being from New York were baseball is still dominate over football. I bought this game was very impressed. It is all I have been playing since it was released. You will enjoy it.

I tend to agree with most others on this topic. I have both the DS and the PSP. Mainly becasue I am a handheld gamer and don't play the consoles much (although I bought a Wii and I am loving it). The PSP doesn't have many original ips except for a few. The only reason I have the PSPis mainly to play the MLB series. I play my DS all the time and there are fanatstic games on the way: Dragon Quest, FF XII Reverent Wings, FF Cyrstal Chronicles, Mario Party, Sonic Rush Adventure, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, Contra 4, The Castlevania series. So keep the DS man you will regret getting rid of it for the PSP.

Most retailers give you 30 days to return defective merchandise. So I would just return it to Best Buy.
