I pre-ordered mine last July. No update from Lionwing, besides a newsletter from October. And their store doesn't have accounts, so I can't really check status or do a support ticket. Discord community (not an actual Lionwing person) is just saying they were told our pre-orders are still on a boat. =\
I'm actually really excited for this game, especially after watching a couple of Rebellion gameplay previews.
...I'm also actually going to wait to buy it most likely lol. Trying REAL hard to focus on backlog and saving money. :( But, I do plan to get this some day soon!
Great month. Already pre-ordered FF7R2 and VF5 on PC. Plan to get Stone of Madness, Spidey 2, Tails of Iron 2, and Cats of Mona Lisa eventually. Hyper Light Breaker once it's 1.0 (but maybe I'll still buy in Early Access for support). Possibly Eternal Strands.
I agree. I praised Capcom for taking a risk to make a game like this. Same for Ubi with the Prince of Persia Metroidvania (although that seems to have gone bad for them, sadly). It definitely did give a little of the same "feels like the good ol' days" vibe. Hopefully at least a couple publicly traded AAA companies still continue to make games like this occasionally.
@MigGui: Tropes aren't racist, as they show no bias, hatred, or fear towards/against the referenced race. They're just tropes. They are essentially neutral by nature, but used to easily identify something most people associate with. Again, no bias, hatred, or fear.
So no, a turban and scimitar is not a racist depiction of someone from the middle east. Racially-coded? Sure. Racist? No.
It's no different than the racially-coded AMERICAN HERO variety of buff white blonde guy. Which, gee, Metal Slug has and people don't seem to complain.
