Don't get me wrong. My initial post is not to dismiss the MS battery pack. It's an excellent product and while it worked, it worked well. Please stick to my original post, I meant to ask if it would offer the same type of experience with regular rechargeable AAs. I have a lot of things around the house that would use AAs or AAAs and this would potentially save me more money if I can just use the same batteries for everything.

Actually it's weird. Each pack last me 3 months or so. I always have a few days of gaps of playing. For some reason the packs would not hold a charge for very long. When I turn them off on Monday, I'd get no charge on them by Friday when I turn them on again. So I just plug them in with the charge kit and charge them while I play. Gradually they just stop taking a charge period. Now when I attempt to charge the packs, the light don't even come on.

I went through 2 of them already. All of my guest controllers just use regular AAs since they're not ALWAYS used. But my controller's gone through 2 rechargeable battery packs. I'm sick of buying these, guess I'm just going to start using regular rechargeable AAs since I have them all around the house.

Would that be more economically efficient and offers relatively the same battery performance?

I go to the closest parts store and buy the cheapest HDMI cables. Usually 19.99, but it's retail and I have to have it right away. Waiting for shipment can sometimes be tedious.

1080i = 1920 x 1080 @ 30 FPS

720p = 1280 x 720 @ 60 FPS

Interlacing displays half of the actual resolution at any given moment. In the case of 1080i, you would be getting 540 horizontal lines at any given moment on the screen. Albeit the refresh rate is fast enough that you will not see a difference (1/30th of a second) but it does matter when it comes to motion. Which is why most sportscast HDTV content are recorded in 720p over 1080i sitcoms.

To answer your question regarding PS3, most of the games available on it are native 720p anyways. On my friend's 1080p Sharp LCD it played Drake's Fortune on 720p automatically.

Only have 1 SIXAXIS controller and as soon as the DS3s are for sale in Canada I'll be grabbing one. The guest can use the non-rumble.

It's really lacking playing sports titles (like Fight Night) without rumble.

Nothing wrong with the 20 GB. I have a launch version myself and the only thing that may matter to you is the lack of Wi-Fi. Otherwise find one used/new for cheap cheap cheap.

It's got hardware backward compatibility to boot, and the HD on PS3 is easily upgradeable for cheap.

Owning a Xbox 360 and a PS3, this doesn't really matter much to me. As well as this forum, but if you think about it. PS3's controller is still superior for many games. I just tried the GT Concept demo and the control scheme kicks ass, I thought it was better than the trigger implemention on the 360. PS3 is also a lot quieter, but I do understand why people would play all the multiplatform games on the 360, damn those achievement points.
