Great review, I certainly hope that forced touch screen actions will be ditched soon thanks to Vita TV. I have yet to see one I find fun or useful and I imagine they would cause great distraction in a combat-heavy situation as intense as a melee attack. I hope Borderlands 2 won't have any of that nonsense.
I don't think sexism is supposed to be a staple of any entertainment medium. For GTA, that would be violence maybe. I don't see Rockstar owning sexism/misogyny as a "staple" any time soon, do you? Personally I haven't cared about a GTA game since GTA2, but I'm sure there are many fans out there who like the gameplay yet find the sexist content leaves a rather foul aftertaste.
Thank you Carolyn for a great review, and especially for noting your opinion on the misogyny in the game. Most reviewers elsewhere let this pass by, makes me wonder if they realized it at all. While I'm certain you're not, don't be fooled by the vast negative/unrelated/tasteless commentary here; sexism actually matters to some of us, regardless of whether we're considering buying a game or choosing the brand of our cereal.I left Gamespot several years ago, due to reviews getting weaker and an interesting trend (at the time) to bash portable consoles and favor smart phones over them at every corner, but now that I see from the comments here that good reviewers like you are left with a bunch of ignorant folk, I think that I will be coming back - at least to check your posts and maybe discover other good Gamespot reviewers at the same time. And thank you Gamespot for having a woman review GTA V, because I am yet to see a better review of it.
