I hope other AAA devs take note of Larian and CDPR's approach to release dates. Don't launch a game until it's really ready. I'm 100% ok for indie devs or new studios launching with a bunch of bugs and game issues so long as they're trying really hard to fix them post release, but when EA, Ubi or Bethesda release horror-shows and expect continued hype, it's kinda bad.

Release games when they're ready, we gamers are 100% ok with a two year delay if the end product is excellent and pushes the industry forward.

Loved Divinity, and was a long time fan of Baldurs Gate. So happy that Larian got access to this title. Keep up the great work!

@izraal: While I agree with your assessment of cognition and perceived uniqueness, I don't think it's judgmental as to that uniqueness. Rather it's a judgment of the recipient of the meme in regard to their inability to assess, perceive and interpret data accurately. The meme indicates that the individual has abrogated their understanding of the issue under discussion to a third-party and has indulged in faith based argument rather than one driven by available data or logic. An example of accurate usage for the meme would be a Climate-Denier, Holocaust-Denier or Flat-Earther.

It's political usage seems to be more a faith to faith based argument, and thus widely used by both sides as a mechanism to mock a lack of fundamental understanding.

The amusing thing regarding the political usage is that both lack understanding and are both entirely unaware of the fact. :)

Thus the argument that they are "fake people" is inaccurate, rather that they're real people who are too lazy to think for themselves. You are correct that the meme is hyperbole, and it's meant to mock the lack of thought (indicating that they're running their analysis on pre-determined datasets or "code") and is used in the hope that it might force a more engaged logical approach.

If people take that to heart, thats an issue for them, and the intent of the sender of the message. For anyone not comfortable with being vilified or insulted, the logical conclusion is that they're suffering far more from internal self-recriminations than any external force could apply. The only way an insult sticks is if there's doubt within the individual that the insult may be correct. If one feels that way about any insult they need to engage in some deep, solitary self-reflection after reading Epictetus and "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius. Only then might they understand that self-reflection gives understanding that voids a fear of inadequacy. Rather inadequacy becomes an opportunity to improve or simply did not exist in the first place. (Thus the mockery is either justified as a motivation to improve or discarded as useless chatter).

Great to chat to someone who applies clear thought in their discourse (who knew that was possible on Gamespot). :)

Happy gaming!

@izraal: NPC Wojak is a depiction of the MS Paint character Wojak with a blank stare and facial expression, named after non-player characters within video games. The character is meant to represent people who do not think for themselves or are incapable of having an internal monologue, bearing many similarities to the terms "basic" and "normie".

I've seen it used on Twitter and Youtube a bunch to troll idiots whose concrete opinion is entirely based upon the concrete opinion of others.

@Barighm: I believe Warhorse studio is currently working on opening up modding tools for the community, so you may see something along those lines on steam soon. Likely around mid june-july.

@Barighm: Only if you think of Red Dead Redemption as a "Riding Simulator".

It takes about three hours of narrative driven RP gameplay to meet the combat trainer. Once you get introduced to the trainer, you can access the skills you need to really dominate combat, and from there you can explore to your hearts content.

The save mechanic takes some time to get used to, but so long as you remember it's meant to be difficult, and not an Assassins Creed fluff game, you can get past it pretty easily.

In terms of preparation for adventure, all you need to do is make sure you're not carrying too much, feed yourself and sleep and then go adventure.

Not "forever" just logical.

For everyone who hasn't bought KCD, strongly recommend you take this opportunity to give it a go. One of the best and least appreciated games of 2018.

@ganondorf77: Might be largely the trend from the last E3, but some of the best games that lived up to their Hype were introduced at E3 in the past.

All we need is for companies to allow creatives to create and execs to market and estimate/allocate effective budget. A lot of the problem in development seems to be that game companies pump a full budget and restrict the creatives to a set of "market researched topics" and then the creatives screw about for years trying to create something within those constraints.

If instead companies approached their studio's with a seed fund, accepted ideas and then chose the one with the best story/gameplay concept to be funded according to the investment strategies used when investing in startups (stage one to alpha, stage two to internal beta, stage 3 to open beta/early release and stage four a full marketing drive), they may not have the trouble they currently are with throwing money at a studio along with a bunch of caveats.
