Alright, this isn't really all things Brawl. I mean, all things in this post are about Brawl, but the post doesn't contain all the Brawl info ever.
So Sonic is playable in Brawl now. I told you so! I figured he had a better chance of being in, since Mario and Sonic was supposedly the first game to feature the two, but people thought Brawl would come out first, discounting Sonic.Okay, you can have your opinions, that's fine, but no one should really be discounting any character for getting in, whether third party or not. It aggrivates (sp?) me when people just say "WHAT THE HELL WOULD HIS MOVESET BE?!" and crap like that. Obviously if Sakurai wants a moveset, he can surely make one.
Another thing that grinds my gears is people complaining about his moveset. Honestly, Sonic, THE most wanted third party character is now in Brawl as a playable, and you want to say "His springboard jump is SO dumb!" Those same people would be the ones complaining if this move was replaced with one that has nothing to do with a Sonic game. People should just calm down and be thankful he's in the game.
Next up, Brawl's release date in America has been pushed to February 10, 2008. I was a tad disappointed at this, but I'm not happy with people who are actually mad about it.
Here is my reasoning on this:
1. Nintendo is a Japanese company. They are Japan-based and always have been. Although we may have gotten Wii before Japan, I do not think it necessarily fair to give Japan a January something release date, and have the US version come out over a month before it. It's not anything other than what's fair, really. Japan always gets games first, that's just how it is.
Note: Please don't comment saying "But the US got this obscure game before Japan!" because you know it's generally true.
2. If it is for the good of the game, then that's fine with me. You want to push the release date back two months? I'm sure this is to make room for something insane, like better online options, (voice chat anyone?) or most likely something none of us have thought of. In a recent IGN article, it was stated that users will be able to share content online and off. This is weird, and probably has us all guessing, but knowing Sakurai I'm sure it will be something insane, something we all want, whether we know we want it or not.
That covers the release date.
One more thing Brawl related for my first post. I'll probably do an introduction post later. Just wanted to get these thoughts down.
So IGN tested Brawl hands on. It's phenomenal. Another cool feature: Alt. costume for Link is Dark Link. With this seamless transition from a normal get up to almost an entirely different character (note:Link's moves stay the same. His appearence changes. But, dark link is still sick as hell), the door is opened for Mario to Dr. Mario costume changes, Samus to Dark Samus, and maybe even Luigi to his antihero Mr. L.
Just a few things to think about. Honestly with daily weekday updates to hold me over, I'm sure I'll be able to wait until February to play Brawl no problem. Now I just have to force myself to get excited for Super Mario Galaxy.
(Note: I am excited for Galaxy, but I didn't give it a second thought when I knew I'd get Brawl soon after. Brawl is more enticing to me right now, specially with all the teaser updates.)
I'll try to edit links to the articles throughout this post and also any future posts. Thanks for reading.
