I asked a question a while ago, and a nice person responded saying I needed to go into OSD and change some settings, but, I really don't know much and can't figure out what OSD is or how I get into it to make the changes I need. Thanks, im sure this is just a stupid moment I'm having.
I just bought a Viewsonic 19" widescreen LCD monitor model :VA1930WM, I still have analog output from my video card, but I keep getting this prompt on my screen telling me the correct resolution I should set my PC to for the best picture, and of course I set it, but, this prompt keeps coming up and it does it all the time, its getting annoying. How do I disable this prompt!? I do what it says, it should go away! If it helps I'm running windows xp media center edition, and my video card is made by ati, im not sure of the exact specs.
trailorparkboy, I'm only looking to play games like half life2, doom3, far cry, republic commando, and some strategy games, I understand the 7300 gt cant support say rainbow six vegas, sure you need a lot more muscle to play that , but, my friends nvidia 6600gt plays the games Im interested in very very well! So the 7300 should fit me well.
Ok cool thanks, alsodo you guys reccommend overclocking cpu's? I want a stronger Graphics card but my processor is ok, if I overclock it can match the graphics card without it taking away performance, I have only 2 fans for cooling though, one fan that goes on the components, the other takes air out of the pc
Oh right, I need to know this o that I can pick out a better CPU that fits my motherboard, once I get that I can get a better graphics card that works with it, I was going for an Nvidia 7200 GT
I am only 2 months into really getting to know about PC's, I have basical general knowledge and finaly want to do some surgery to get my gaming PC running those video games at higher settings, I just need to know how I find the exact specifications on my motherboard as far as the company, the make, the exact socket for the cpu etc. I bought the whole PC off a friend so Im really dont know much about the motherboard other than what it currently holds: AMD athlon 2.3 ghz CPU, and ATI 9200 graphics card, thats about all i know as far as specs go, but I'm curious if theres a way for my pc to identify exactly what motherboard I have, like in the bios or something, thanks!
Also does anyone else know if the other games in the compilation comes with the updated patches? These are the games, Knights of the old republic, Jedi outcast (confirmed patch fix), Republic commando (needed possible multiplayer map patch), Empire at war, and Battlefront, it just feels kind of unsettling knowing that any potential problems in these games can't be fixed because they are are on 2 discs, instead of each being on its original disc, I don't see why it should work as is though, but thanks to who can help!
