The settings the game itself choose are far away from NOT demanding, better change them by yourself. And why dont you check if there is a newer driver for your videocard

It could be dust in your fans or thermal compound may have dried up on your cpu and the fan is working over time to try and keep it cool.

+1 Maybe your PC is overheating due to a dust in the fans. It is a good idea to clean your rig

Sorry about the double post but I'm not able to post multiple pictures at once because I keep getting the "not-well formed" error despite the fact that there's nothing wrong. Here's the second picture:
