I would say research the Windows Event ID accompanying the error before going through the hassle of swapping out hardware. Right-click My Computer, Manage, Event Viewer.

It depends on the hardwares in you pc. ostly, it's about your video card. Anything between 500 to 650 watts should be ok. Don't pay a fortune for the test. Your not going to use the psu for 3 weeks, just a couples of hours. If it is really the psu, return it and get a better one.

No matter the watts of the PSU, it still might be a PSU problem. Try with another one.

Yeah I had a temperature monitor running while I played some games and they were still normal when it crashed.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3.0GHz

4GB RAM

Radeon X1650 512MB (Also had this issue when I was running GeForce 8600 GT 1024MB)

ASUS M2N-E SLI Motherboard

Can't remember the PSU brand but I'm pretty sure it was 850W

Im gonna have a guess, and say its the RAM on the GPU thats causing it to freeze, or some program is a big memory leak/hog.

For a very long time I've had some issues with my PC.

Basically when running games my PC will occasionally decide to freeze and restart.

Occasionally the PC will freeze and rather than restarting the video card will recover and the PC will carry on running fine until it eventually does crash.

The contents of the accompanying error report is:

So far I've replaced the graphics card to no avail, checked temperatures on the CPU and GPU which were normal and also run memory testing software which has found no errors with the installed memory.

Also this error has occured on XP, Vista and Windows 7 and occurs more frequently on more graphically intensive games.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I am completely out of any..

If I'm not using it then its in the cradle so just charged when I'm not playing Killzone or UC2. :)

Out of more recent games I'd reckon that the Uncharted games have some of the greatest scores but extending the time period back further then I'd say a number of the Final Fantasy series or the Zelda series.

There are so many games that deserve them they would have to award a few each year to make up for lost time.
