The warranty is now 1 full year, and your launch 360 is outside the window of opportunity to take advantage. Your options now are buying a new 360 or spending $140 and having Microsoft send you a refurbished console. If you opt to spend the $140 you will receive a 1 year warranty on the refurbished unit that they send you.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely picking up a mic and Resistance when I get the PS3. Though, I won't be getting many other games this year, as having a 360 AND a PS3 is very taxing on my wallet. Honestly, as of right now, I only see myself getting Resistance and MGS4 whenever that comes out.

EDIT: I forgot to ask, what's this Folding@Home thing?

Okay, so I've seriously been deciding on whether to get a PS3 or not, and I have a couple questions about it.

1) Does it freeze often? I have a 360, and the amount of freezing and hardware failures for it really upset me.

2) Does it lag a lot? By this, I mean when you're browsing through your friends list, does it chug through the names at a slow pace?

3) I've heard that the PS3 is much quieter than the 360. Is this true?

Having said that, I am wondering something. Does the 360 Elite come with the new chip/CPU that doesn't overheat as easily, or not? Thanks.
