Althought other stores like Futureshop and Bestbuy have increased their prices of the PS3 from $659.99 to $699.99 a long time ago, it was just recently (March 4th, 2007) that Sony decided to raise the price of the PS3 to match everyone else in Canada.
You can see from this page that Sony****has made the price change on the 4th.
... and I was going to use the Sony****website to force Futureshop and Bestbuy to price beat it too... dammit.

this may be a stupid question, but can someone explain to me why they would just up and increase the price? It doesn't make sence to me because wouldn't that lower their sales?
Sony says it because of the USD -> CDN exchange rate but its complete BS. At 699.99 (CDN) we are paying $50 (USD) more than our American counterpart. Its even worse for Europeans.

Its no big deal, the PS3 is already flopping in Canada. This is just more incentive to buy a Wii and/or 360.

What the hell are you talking about. I *LOVE* Paper Mario, I own both the N64 and GC ones and can't wait for the Wii version. Hell I even hyped this game AAA.
Ever since Rare left Nintendo, they have been pumping out flops. Sorry but as much as I loved BK on the N64, the next one on the 360 will proably suck.
