@dab0ne They're already major characters in the novels. I want a game with Bernie Mataki as the main character. I don't really think gamers are so shallow that they'd abandon a franchise they love simply because of a female protagonist. People have been playing as Lara Croft for almost two decades. Bayonetta, Portal, Mirror's Edge, etc. all have female characters and guys love those games just as much as female gamers.
@Spacerac "The Killzone/Gears demo isn't playing Tomb Raider or Portal."
I beg to differ. I've played every game you mentioned and love them all. I have a life sized Lancer Assault Rifle replica and an Aperture Sciences Handheld Portal Device replica, so it's pretty obvious that I like Gears of War and Portal, and cannot wait to play the new Tomb Raider.
@queuing_for_PS4 Have you actually played these games? Every entry has added new features and improved what was already present. If you want to play a game with stealth mechanics, play Dishonored.
You've gotten a damage boost for perfect active reloads since GOW.
Gears doesn't really have any "big" problems. There have only been 3 games released so far, so if you're getting bored already I think that's probably got more to do with your personal attention span than the games themselves. That's not a dig at you, but if you aren't into it, why do you keep coming back?
I always play as female protagonists, when the option is available. There are a number of reasons for this, but first and formost: I like beautiful, strong female characters. My two main MP characters were Anya and Bernadette.
I'm definitely wishing$150 pricewise, but anything up to $199 will give them a serious edge. Once you surpass the halfway mark towards the price range of the other consoles, the consumer is left to weigh thier options a little more carefully. At $150 it's a no brainer. I'd love some details on a "light gun" attatchment, as I've heard rumours one is in the works. Zelda as a bundle is a guaranteed sale for most Nintendo fans, but it might be wise to offer an alternative for those who usually reside in the Microsoft or Sony camp, by bundling an equal share of units with Red Steel. Nintendo will crush thier holiday competition with Sony. Microsoft will do just fine if they can get games like Gears of War, and Crackdown into stores in time for the holidays.
