for some reason comments aren't showing up in articles,or videos, etc. anyone else have this problem?

So I just saw that article gamespot had from a week or so ago about some professor that says that video games that are violent, such as GTA5, actually make people more prone to being violent in real life.

I find this complete bullshit! I started playing violent games at the age of 6 to 7, Doom, Heretic, Rise of the Triad, Blake Stone, BLOOD, any tons of others as time progressed. I've never had the urge to kill someone, or hurt someone without consciously thinking about it. I have a pretty dark personality sure, but id never just burst into a violent outrage, hurting or killing someone. The main flaw I saw in this professor's study is that most people are susceptible to things. Have you ever heard of a percentage of people being susceptible to hypnotism? Well the same thing applies for only a certain percentage of people being susceptible to violent actions from violent video games. He is acting like everyone reacts this way from violent video games, the people that do have violent behavior are most likely troubled in some way to begin with, but the argument stands...Would it be better for these people to play a game and kill people senselessly in the game or go out to their local mall and start a killing spree?

I believe Video Games are an outlet to channel, anger, frustration, depression, and violent behavior, etc. I bet that if video games were never created, there would have been alot more violence in the world. This professor obviously is blaming video games for something that went wrong, just because you dont like video games, dont ruin it for those of us who do.

If you guys look in the strategy guide theres 2 sniper rifles that are only available through best buy pre orders and 4 pistols that require you to do certain things to get, all are easily obtainable. one wants you to play a facebook game, one wants you to sign on to a website and get a code, one wants you to get a code from a energy drink and the fourth pistol you watch the ghost recon alpha movie to get the code. I plan on doing all those and then to get the sniper rilfes that are pre order bonuses, im going to tell best buy i pre ordered my game there but never got the code. the one sniper is the M40A1 but its the latest version and the bodark gets the newer version of the mosin nagant. i know this doesnt pertain to the topic but if you pre ordered on amazon they give you a MP map called drilling ship. It looks sweet.. i hope they release it later in a DLC.

@caketoo you are right on the money man. I mean there has to be something we all can do about this, its an outrage! The are running a shady fricken business. You do not run a business like they are... Im surprised theyve been able to get away with it this long. I mean ive heard of people sueing Sony for their consoles actually melting or breaking down but that's only because they put them in enclosed areas or someplace with absolutely no ventilation. I wouldnt expect them to win that suit. thats just plain stupid. But all of us have legit reasoning behind ours if we could actually afford to hire a lawyer and take on huge company.

ugghhh... I just wish the company I used to know and love that made great products still did and cared about its customers.

@JKnaperek I know quite a bit about electronics and I have made NO mistakes. I don't know who you think you are saying that. You don't even know me, did you even read what I said? I take care of my consoles and belongings and I have not done anything wrong to break them. So instead of trying to act like you know who I am, or just trolling around these forums to pick a fight.... Why dont YOU go enroll yourself in some classes to fix your sh!tty attitude.

@Mushroomwig I said I get that some electronics do go bad... but the fact that I have had 3 PS3 consoles go bad in under 1 and a half years isnt just chalked up to coicedence. There's obviously something wrong with the design of the consoles.

And yeah I get the warranty stuff, I was more then happy to pay the first time this happened but after that the problem should have been fixed. Not just made into a time bomb fuelled by my wallet. I mean seriously if you send a broken item into the company for them to FIX it, that's exactly what they should do!!!! Not provide a temporary fix making it to where it breaks down everytime after the warranty is gone making you pay multiple times for something that the company should have FIXED the FIRST fricken time the problem occured!!!!! What Sony is doing about this YLOD is BS! They are robbing us in all actualality.

But YES! How is it that our PS1 and PS2's are all in excellent condition after years of use? Not a single problem. and PS3 comes out and we are fine for a year or two or more then BAM! PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM and its sucking up all our money! I mean it's not just PS3 either, Xbox 360 is having the same problem right? the red ring of death? I dont own or never will own a 360 but my friends have all had that problem with theirs. Why are the current consoles breaking down? The Wii doesnt have any problems.... I havent heard of any problems with the Wii. I own one and its been nothing but great. I think the companys, Sony and Microsoft, finally saw how to make more money then just sales in consoles and games/accesories. They make their consoles have this certain cheap part that is basically a time bomb waiting to destroy the system. And when it does you send it in of course because you want you console fixed because you paid so much for it right? The put a temporary fix on it and send it back and "rinse and repeat". It just keeps happening.

Im not sayin thats what they do, Im saying that what it seems like is happening.

yeah i get that there are some bad electronics but the fact that this problem is growing the the orginal PS3 models says something. I mean the same day my PS3 got the YLOD my computers HD died and it was only a year old. First time ive ever had that happen.

But I mean the fact that they have given me 3 PS3's that all have got the same exact problem happen to them is a little strange. It's not just coincidence its a defect in the design. I could have boughta slim by now instead of paying sony two times $150 the first time and $100 the third. The second time it happend I was covered under the 90 warranty luckily but still my point is that this is ridiulous.

I swear if i had the money to hire a lawyer and fight Sony over this in court I would till the end. It's just so unfair and not how you deal with your products breaking down. It's not how your run your business.

Okay so I just recieved the YLOD for the 3rd time and so I called up Sony to ask them if it would cost anything. Of course it would $100. Why? Why should I have to pay that much or any for that matter to have my PS3 "fixed" for the third time?! This is ridiculous!! Sony is ripping it's customer's off with defective PS3 consoles. I take care of my game systems and I damn well took care of my PS3, keeping it well ventilated. Hell, I have a N64 that works the same as it did day one on release day! What does that say about your console's Sony? I will not pay to have my console shipped in and replaced just for it to happen again and again! I am going to attempt to fix it myself by taking it apart and following a guide. I tried the hair drier fix but it didn't work at all.

Im sure there are others within the Gamespot forums that this has happened to or is still happening to. Im sure your outraged aswell, and Sony needs to own up to their mistake and fix all our lumps of plastic and metal for free and for permenant! This is not fair to us! We have paid over 200 dollars or more to enojy a gaming experience and im sure a hell of a lot more for games( i own 45 PS3 titles) and all we get is a broken console and a library of unusable games and a greedy customer service agent. Seriously Sony what the hell is wrong with you? You can expect us to stay loyal if your treating us like crap! I mean I understand the warranty stuff after you get it fixed u have a warranty for 90 days but we shouldnt be getting the YLOD over and over again and most likely after the warranty is up making us pay for your defect!!!!! It's downright dirty business. That's not how you treat your customer's!

theres no way you can not like that game. And dont play like 10 min and say it sucked, give it a chance, play it for a few days. it didnt win GOTY for nothing, and have a huge fanbase.
