Who cares? Why not enjoy it and the creativity that it's getting credit for causing? There's more than 100 that are in some stage of production at this time, so why not run around and try different ones while they're here?
It sounds like everyone just wants a graphical update to Morrowind. I agree though. I was disappointed with Oblivion, and never ended up finishing it. All I want is that if they're going to port it over, make the one for the console the dumbed down one, not both versions.
It depends. As out0v0rder said, you don't need to upgrade at all, UNLESS you want to continually play new games. What I mean is is that my system is like 4 years old. It wasn't top-of-the-line when I built it, but it's still plenty enough to run most games nowadays. They're finally starting to get to the point where I need to upgrade in order to play the games. My system is still a tad bit ahead of the recommended settings of most games, so I'm still plenty good. But if I were to want to play those games a lot smoother, then I'd definitely need to upgrade. It's all a matter of what you want, really. I'm satisfied with my 4 year old machine, and until it gets to the point where my system falls into the minimum requirements category, I don't plan on upgrading it at all.
Why is this even a question? Of course if you find either of the original series you should get it. They are considered classics for a good reason, but, as was previously mentioned, the graphics are pretty bad by today's standards. I would highly recommend you get them though. The game play and story telling is next to none, even with today's games. Definitely go get them!
