Hi guys, i just picked up my MasterCard today, and now i have no idea at all how to make it work on the Playstation Store. I'm trying to make it work and fund my PSN Wallet from the internet site. But it keeps saying invalid. I just picked up the card at the bank about an hour ago. Maybe i should wait? They told me just activated it when i picked it up. It took a few minutes only. I just requested my Internet PIN and apparently i'll need to wait for my Mastercard SecureCode, to be able to buy anything online?

By the way, is my card called a pre-paid one? According to the bank, i agreed to make a pledge on it to "block" a small amount of money for my MasterCard (about $70), and i'm not from the US or UK. I'm from an island in the Indian Ocean. Will it work? Or should i just give up and stop trying? My bank says it's an international credit card though. Even if it works online, i'm not sure if it'll work on PSN. Any advice?

The PS3 will not be made any cheaper until a new model revision comes along. Last November, i was in the exact same dilemma and was wondering when was the right time to buy a PS3 - guess what? you missed it and you're just going to miss more fun on this fantastic console, if you wait any longer. The price is NOT going to drop anytime soon. Probably at the end of the year, at earliest, but then again, no word about it. Sony's very own CEO has clearly made an official statement a few months ago: "we are still a business, you know" :D I still remember those words, as it was what tipped the balance for me. Those of who don't know (not that Sony would go around advertising about it) Sony is selling the PS3 with loss (yes, they are) and with the recent new 80GB and 160GB models introduced last year, with only 2 USB ports on each, no backward compatibility, etc, Sony has made an ultimate effort to cut costs of production on its next-gen console. Currently Sony is still selling the PS3 at a loss, but the loss is considerably less, but still, there is currently NO profit made by Sony when it sells the PS3. Sony's hope is that it will gain revenues from the profits made from games sold on its system, which is exactly why Sony works so hard to prevent hackers from cracking the PS3 console to play game backups. Analysts have said that Sony is expected to break-even by the end of this year. This means that Sony will be able to sell the PS3 at the same price that it costs to manufacture. Still, there will be NO profit for Sony on the PS3's sales, but then for the first time ever, Sony won't be making any more losses when selling the PS3. All that is still speculation on the part of analysts. Remember that the PS3 contains a bluray drive, which is very expensive itself. Check the price of a bluray player and you'll see that the PS3 is an incredible bargain if you want to enjoy your bluray movies for the best possible price. There is also the beast at the heart of the PS3; 7 processors beating at 3.2Ghz each, called the Cell technology. There is nothing in the console world that comes close. The XBOX360 has only 3 processors at 3.2Ghz each. Either way, if you want to wait, fine. But you'll be missing out on one of the greatest games ever; Killzone2, released just weeks ago, along with all the PS3 exclusives released before. The PS3 is exceptional value for money, and Sony has officially stated that it will support the PS3 until 2016, so you know you won't lose out if you buy a PS3 now or later. Any other console will never be able to hold that long, as both the XBOX360 and Wii use normal DVD discs which can hold up to 8.5GB, which is extremely limited space. The PS3 uses bluray discs which can hold up to 50GB. I bought my PS3 in November last year and i truly believe that it's one of the best decisions i have made.

At first, i didn't really think that Infamous would be anything special, with Prototype coming up and infamous first appeared to be a GTA-like (open-world adventure) except that you have super electric powers. All that changed when i saw the new trailer and the developer comments that went with it, on the official playstation blog. For those who for some weird reason don't visit the PS blog everyday: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/03/12/watch-the-new-infamous-trailer-now/ The developers are really hard at work on this one, and each new trailer comes with added improvements both on the graphics and gameplay. I didn't want to rush my opinion on this one, but i expected the final rating to be at least 8.0/10 but with things escalating on the quality side of the game, 8.0 would be an under-statement for this exclusive PS3 game. Come May 2009, i will almost assuredly pre-order this game. There's no exclusives coming out on the PS3 in the next two months anyway, so might as well save up and wait for yet another fun ride in June when infamous is expected to be released ;) Currently playing Killzone2, and the world just felt better :) PSN ID: shaksnet

RE is dead to me... I am still healing my feelings for the game... little by little, but i don't think i will ever be able to recover fully. EVER. First things first, how can a huge cash cow and ultra popular game company, like Capcom, manage to screw up such a great franchise and it's most venerable iconic game, i dare say. RE has been declined into a trilogy movie which features great stars and is quite well made IMO, but in spite of all the glory that first originated with the game, Capcom **** it up soooo bad. What i really care about in any shooter game (we're in 2009, for ****'s sake!!!) is at least the minimum ability to walk/stride/run while shooting. IS THAT SOOO DIFFICULT TO MAKE, CAPCOM??? With the release of games that redefine shooters (of course, i'm referring to the champ Killzone2) released a few weeks ago and now we get this!!?? a crappy game where the controls are as dumb and old as it can ever get. Seriously fellow gamers, if it's wasn't for the RE brand on that game, it's rating and selling value or units sold, would be much much less than its current stats seem to indicate. I was one of the very first to grab the demo when it was released on both XBOX360 and PS3, and i shared the X360 demo with my friends on a CD, and ALL of those who had pre-ordered, told me the next time we met, that they had cancelled their pre-order. Now, that's pretty much a big deal for people who have been playing RE since it's very beginnings. Upon examination (no close scrutiny needed for this one!) RE5 is seriously just RE4, pasted with hi-res graphics. That's it. The game engine is 95% same. The way you move and shoot is the most primitive game released on the current next-gen consoles and it probably will hold its crown in the primitive section for... ever? I am VERY disappointed in this game and it's no secret why there was no hype to its release. Gamers just stopped caring about it. Those who didn't know what to expect or look for, concluded on their feelings the day they played the demo. A very insensitive and dumb move for Capcom. For all shooter fans, Gears of War or Killzone2, it does not matter which game on which platform, nothing bears the very limited game engine, like Capcom's RE5. When RE6 comes out (i would probably save my bandwidth on this one and just ignore it) if Capcom does not seriously consider using a new game engine, instead of patching its current extremely limited game engine, then the game is probably doomed to idle in its own circle of die-hard fans, who would probably not welcome any change to the way it's played anyway. Adios RE, you would have made a really terrific game, if not for the fools at Capcom. It's almost like they don't want to spend on another game engine, like it would be too much work. "Let's just go patching in a few new moves and keep tweaking it, and hope that the RE fans wouldn't notice" - that's about how the RE developers thought when working on RE5 and if they don't get replaced by more capable developers or undergo intense brain-washing, then sadly, the RE franchise is DOOMED! Over and out.
