500 Accepted Submissions + New Submission System Problems

So I have just finally cracked the 500 accepted submissions mark, which I feel is a pretty decent acheivement seeing how I have been here only 3 months now. I have had 500 submissions for awhile now but I mean I don't think denied should really count. It's a bit odd how you get the rocket ship icon as soon as you hit 500. I mean they could all be denied and you would still get it.

I'm looking at picking up a few more people guides down the track. So far I have 3 and I'm trusted on 1 which is pretty good. I'm not gonna try and get a show editorship. It would be too much work cos all the shows I really love are big popular ones. Plus it would be way to much responsibility.

Onto the new submission system.

Looks like it has been active for about the last few hours. First problem is that when you go to submit trivia it ends up in the quotes section, and quotes end up in the trivia section. Come on guys who tested this system out! I can get around this on my own guide by simply clicking on the incorrect button but I'm definetly not going to submit stuff on someone elses guide. It will just end up screwing the editors around.

I like the fact that the points on the guides go up as you submit but it seems that you only get 1 point for a person guide unlike the 2 points you used to get.

Also if you're an editor, all your submissions result in inbox messages telling you that you're sumbission has been accepted. Dah! I'm an editor, it's called auto acceptance.

Well it is very early days so hopefully they will get on top of these bugs.

Editor again, third times a charm

Yep just took control of my third person guide on tv.com. I am now editor for reigning two time Formula One World Champion Fernando Alonso.

Alonso is the most succesful of all the current Formula One drivers having won the title in 2005 and 2006. He is one of the most talented drivers to come along in awhile and he has made the sport of Formula One huge in Spain.

So yeah I am a huge fan of Formula One and hopefully i'll be able to become editor of a few other drivers soon enough. Alot of them are fairly unavailable but.

This guide comes with alot more work then either of my extremely rarely visted guides. I have had more action with my Alonso guide then I had in a couple of months with my first.

Bye for now :D

Nipety/Tuckety, the Anatomy of Grey and The Color Fred

First of all I havent really been as active on this site in the last month as i had been to begin with. I'll try and turn that around a bit starting with this blog.

So I was away visting my girlfriend the other weekend and we were having a look around one of the local music/dvd/game store and while browsing the dvd section I came across the first two seasons of Nip/Tuck at a price I couldn't dare pass up.

My girlfriend was like "You're buying those?". She thought Nip/Tuck was like that Extreme Makeover show or something. I explained "No it's a cutting edge drama sereies!". Cutting edge that's a great pun =).

Anyway I used to love watching this show but it never really got a great run in Australia. They would like have 2 episodes a week on the same night and pretty much jam a season into about 5 or 6 weeks. Definetly not great if you miss an episode. I'm pretty sure we never even got to the end of season 3 over here.

And i'm pretty much falling in love with this show all over again. It's great I love Dr Troy he is awesome. Some of the storylines this show comes out with is great. I especially found Season 1 Episode 10 Adelle Coffin to be an extremley emotional and powerful episode. This show doesn't shy away from tough issues and i love it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay well now onto ahh another Medical show I guess... Grey's Anatomy.

I had watch dribs and drabs of this show with my girlfriend (I'm bringing up my girlfriend alot) a few episodes in season 2 here and there. Then we were watching a new episode of season 3 on tv and she had to pretty much explain everything. It was a really good episode but and I enjoyed it, so I decided that I was going to borrow some of my sisters Grey's dvd's and start from the begining.

I must say i'm now a fan of Grey's Anatomy. It's a really good show, smart, funny and full of great drama. The characters are really fun and I enjoy how they interact with each other.

I'm hoping to watch a little more soon, i've watched a season and a half but that has been halted by my Nip/Tuck viewing.

It's funny I was at a mates the other weekend and we were having a few games of poker. Grey's Anatomy was coming on TV so one of my female friends goes "Ohh can we put the TV on, I wan't to watch Grey's Anatomy?" Pretty much staright away all the guys just jumped in and were like "You're kidding!" and "No way". Needless to say I didn't really speak up. It was a new episode anyway and I don't really want any spoilers.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Onto my last little piece of news. I've become a two-time editor. No it's still ain't a TV show, like iv'e said thats a bit to much responsibility. No my new editorship is for none ofther than Taking Back Sunday back-up vocalist and guitarist Fred Mascherino!!

Say hello to Fred

For those not familiar with Fred Mascherino or Taking Back Sunday for that matter, head over to www.takingbacksunday.com, www.myspace.com/takingbacksunday or Fred's own personal site www.thecolorfred.com

Okay that's all for now, have a good one =)

Yay I'm an editor! + other news

So title pretty much says it all, I'm finally an editor. No im not an editor for a show or anything. (that might be a bit to much responsibility)

I am the editor for alternative rock band Brand New

They are a really good band, they don't just sound the same as every other rock band out there these days.

If you're unfamiliar with there work then check them out here at pure volume - http://www.purevolume.com/brandnew

Few of the best tracks would be Sowing Season, Jesus Christ, Sic Transit Gloria & The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows.

In other news after about a months worth of contributions I have finally made the list of top contributors for South Park. Which I think is pretty good considering how popular the show is.

That's pretty much it... oh yeah I came 6th in poker tonight out of about 70 people. Next time i'll win.

South Park, Season 11, First Run Rankings!

Well as it has been for the last few years, seasons of South Park have been split into 2 runs of episodes. And seeing how the 1st run of 7 episodes is over, I thought i'd rank them in order from least favourite to favourite and say a few words about them.

Number 7 - D-Yikes!

This is my pick for least favouite of the 7 episodes. It was a good episode, not terrible by any means. It's just I didn't get alot of it. Apparently alot of it parodies the new movie 300 and well I haven't seen it yet so I didn't really get some of the 300 referances.
The highlight would be the Mexican guys that everyone keeps hiring to do stuff.

Number 6 - Lice Capades

Lice Capades was a pretty good episode but definetly not a great episode by any means. Where the episode lost it was the side story of the lice in Clyde's hair. It just wasn't that interesting to tell the truth. I did enjoy the whole witchhunt to try and find the lice culprit, that was good I wish the episode focused more on that. The scene where all the boys are saying "Wait this is exactly what you would do if you had lice" is great.

Number 5 - Cartman Sucks

Cartman Sucks is actually a really good episode. It would definetly be higher if it wern't for the fact that there have been so many great episodes this season. Cartman puts Butters penis in his mouth while his sleeping and takes a phot to prove that Butters is gay now thats funny. Cartman trying to get his lost picture back off Kyle is hilarious. The way he tries to explain the photo & then his crying to his mum is great. And lets now forget Butters at the gay camp. "It's all very confusing" I love it.

Number 4 - With Apologies to Jesse Jackson

A great way to start season 11. This was a really funny episode. Randy saying the word N*gga on television and then becoming known as "That N*gga guy" was hillarious. Kissing Jesse Jackson's arse that was great. I loved how Randy and all the other N*gga guys" tried to tell everyone that they didn't know what it was like to have something painful always said to them. Prompting one black guy to deliver this hillarious line. "Is this N*gga guy for real?". Let's not forget about Cartman fighting the midget that was brilliant. Really liked the way Cartman turned everything the little guy said into a mock relating to his height.

A good episode but there was better to follow.

Number 3 - Fantastic Easter Special

The original Pope was actually a rabbit.... It's so obvious now that I think of it. The first ever Easter episode of South Park is a memorable one and it doesn't shy away from asking the big questions, like "Why do we even have to paint these stupid eggs?". Stan & Kyle uncover the secret behind Easter and a anciet Group called The Hare Club For Men that protects this secret. DaVinci Code parody maybe? It's brilliant how it alters parts of The DaVinci Code to fit this story about the Pope rabbit. Like how they analise The Last Supper painting to reveal a rabbit. The Pope and that other church dude are so funny. "Okay Bill, im pretty sure killing Jesus isn't very Christian."

I really enjoyed this episode it was good fun.

Number 2 - The Snuke

This episode is beyond great... I don't really have a word for beyond great but you can imagine what that's like. Even though it is "beyond great" it still lands itself in 2nd spot. Which is pretty strange because I consider this to be one of the best episodes of South Park ever. I think this is one of the funniest parodies that South Park has ever done. I mean Matt & Trey sure do have 24's number. They could probably take over making 24.

This episode has so many great lines, such as "Everyone in South Park will die... Forever!" Just brilliant. Cartman play Jack is great, I mean his torture tactics... farts I loved that. And Kyle in his room on his computer cross referencing information with Google and Myspace was really funny. This episode had so many great parts but the highlight would be when new agencies come in and keep taking over Kyles investigation. "I'm in charge here" "Not anymore your not!". Also a big shout out to the HillDog gaga. Loved that.

Number 1 - Night of the Living Homeless

Words can't say how much I like this episode. I just love everything about it. One of the funniest episodes of South Park ever. That's why ive ranked it number 1 out of all 7 episodes so far in season 7. Some people may not like this episode that much but I think it's awesome.

The whole idea of Cartman trying to jump the homeless on his skateboard is great. And then how they always relate it back to Kyle and it being his idea... so funny. "I really don't understand what you see in this Kyle"

The Zombie parody is just great. The Homeless and "Change" are such a great substitue for Zombies and "Brains". It's just a really good parody of Dawn of the Dead... a movie i don't even like that much. But they make it funny. Randy on the mall roof is hillarious. The bit where he hold the guy up, whose head he blew off before to show him the homeless leaving, is one of the funniest things ive ever seen.

But the best bit of the episode would have to be the boys singing there own Homeless version of "California Love". This scene just cements the episodes greatness and puts it over the top.

Just fantastic.

Anyway so there's my ranking on the 7 episodes of season 11 so far and my thoughts and feelings. Hope you enjoyed it.

South Park just keeps getting better with age

I think its absolutley fantastic that after 10 season (currently in it's 11th) South Park is still easily the funniest cartoon and show for that matter on tv.

It's great how they have been able to keep it fresh the whole way through, at no point has the quality declined at all during a season.

The humour has certainly changed alot I mean long gone are the days of finding a satellite in Cartmans butt or trying to get and Elephant an Pig to make love. Now we have complex storylines that are full of culture referances and paraodies galore.

I think I can easily say that its just as good as it was 10 years ago I mean look at the latest episode titled The Snuke. This is without a doubt one of the great all time South Park episodes it's right up there with Scott Tenorman.

If this is the kinda of quality were going to get then id be glad if this show ran for another 10 seasons.

I find it so much easier to write reviews for episodes I love

So ive just recently joined up and well im trying to become pretty active on her you kno write some reviews, post on the forums and eventually when my level is high enough contribute some quotes and stuff.

But one thing im finding is that when I write reviews there mostly for episodes that I consider to be lik 10/10 classic episodes.  For some reason I fin it hard to write areview for an episode that was liek a 9 or something.  I guess its kinda hard to right reviews for poor episodes but i did do one for the Stanley's Cup episode of South Park which I gave 5/10

Ohwell just an observation i guess ill have to try harder to review something average
