I did install the hardware first. I turned on the computer and the graphic card's fan was spinning but the screen was all black. I switched back to the integrated graphic card so i could see what i'm doing. Then i tried installing the drivers but it didn't detect the 8800

I'm new toinstalling hardwareso i might have done something wrong. I did i little bit of research and followed instructions from multiple sites. First I uninstalled all my drivers and turned off the integrated graphic card through Computer Management. Then I turned off my computer and installed the graphic card (put the 6 pin connector in the back, etc) and then i closed my case. Then i connected my monitor to the card and turned the computer on. I only saw a black screen, so i switched back to my integrated card and tried to install the drivers for my 8800 but it wouldn't let me because my computer couldn't detect it. I tried the Install Hardware thing in Control Panel but it also couldn't detect the graphic card. I have no clue whats wrong.

Btw, i saw a similar post on another site and the only answers the guy got back was install new drivers or the power supply is too weak. I think my power supply is fine, it has 550W and 32A on the +12v and it's impossible to install new drivers. What do you guys think I should do?

I wanna buy a new graphic card but i don't know which one i should choose. The Geforce 7300 256/VGA/DVI/TV-O/PCIe for  $89  or the Geforce 6800 ULTRA PCIe/256/2-DVI/TV-O  for $150. I need help because one is more expensive than the other. I'm leaning towards the 7300 cause it's a series 7 but the 6800 is more expensive so does that mean it's better?
