Whew! Today I finally broke 20,000 on my 360 Gamerscore. A lot of people don't care about gamerscore or anything....bite me. That is all. =P
The GameKillers!
by shaunLEGEND on Comments
Axe body spray's latest commercials are great. If you're not familiar with it, it's about people that ruin your game aka the GameKillers. Game in this case isn't videogames or sports but the art of getting at a girl. It's the unspoken code of the courting process. GameKillers are better known as cock blockers. I love that they profile all the different kinds of CB's. All you guys that think you got game, be sure to check out the website at thegamekillers.com. Know thy enemy.
Doom Movie......AWESOME!
by shaunLEGEND on Comments
I just finished watching the Doom movie and must admit I really enjoyed it. I know this movie was critically panned but it really wasn't that bad. I look at is as a big budget B movie, defnitely a cult movie.
Highlights include:
The Rock with the classic line, "I was not supposed to die". Ok that doesn't sound funny now that I read it over but it was his delivery of the line.
How dark it is. I don't mean dark as in dark comedy. It was literally dark. For a majority of the film, you cannot see it. To be fair, you can barely see it.
By far, the best part of the film is the Doom first person tribute. They recreate the whole FPS perspective and have a whole sequence based on it. The whole sequence runs about ten minutes. They recreate the game experience so well, I was expecting a health and an armor HUD to pop up on the screen. I know all the fans would enjoy this if they saw it as it really has to be seen to believed. I enjoyed the FPS tribute that I forgive Hollywood for all the bad video game movies, well almost all of them.

Nas + Jay-Z = WTF X 10!!!!!!
by shaunLEGEND on Comments
I know this is old news but I just saw the rerun of the Nas & Jay-Z interview on MTV. I'm all for peace and everything but this has got to be the most thinly veiled "make up" ever. I truly believe the only reason this is happening is because Jay happens to be the president of Def Jam and Nas happens to be without a label.
BOTTOM LINE: It's official, Jay won the battle. He signs Nas' paychecks from now on, which deep down has to be a bitter pill for Nas to swallow, even if they did "make up".

The Hardest 30 Gamer Points Ever (But Most Worth It!)...

So I get the urge to play a little Geometry Wars...yeah I got it pretty bad. Something about the day makes me feel like getting in my little spaceship and shooting the crap out of colored shapes. So I turn on Ol' Faithful (Yeah I call my 360 Ol' Faithful, big whoop wanna fight about it?), and hop onto the Live Arcade Blade.
Hmmm, last game played was Marble Blast Ultra. Maybe I should hop on for a little bit....nah stick to the plan. Alright, load up Geometry Wars and I am good to go. I am just about ready to hit start, when I realize I most definitely don't want to hear that Geometry Wars music. Time to find the iPod.
Ok, so I hook up the iPod, load up my playlist "Top 100 Highest Rated Songs" and this time I am really good to go. Aceyalone starts blaring through my tv speakers and it is time to hit start...Holy Crap! I'm actually doing good. It is so on right now. Before I know it, I am already up 600,000 points. I am money...I am in the zone. I then fumble......I got so caught up in the score that I lose focus and start losing lives left & right. Jack Johnson comes on and then I am back. In a moment of Zen, I pass up my previous high of 790,000 and can't believe it.
Ack...fumble again. Stop looking at the score. I am now on my last life at 980,00 points. Show me your worst Geometry Wars, I didn't come all this way for nothing. 10 seconds later I die.
I did it. 1,074,585 points and the achievement for a million points and it feels good.

2005 and beyond....the New Golden Age Of Videogaming
by shaunLEGEND on Comments
There's never been a better time to be a videogamer. When I'm at home, I can play my 360, PS2 or X-Box. When I'm out & about, I got my PSP & DS. Not that I carry them with me all the time, but you know what I mean. 2005 will always be to me the year that videogaming hit its stride and rose to new levels of greatness. I'll try not to make this a long post so bare with me as I break it down. I realize the DS came out in 2004, but in 2005 Nintendo opened everybody's eyes, and made everybody a believer of their vision. The DS was first seen as gimmicky and naysayers cast the system as doomed even before it was released. My how things have changed! Games like Kirby: Canvas Curse, Meteos, and Nintendogs have given us a completely different experience that was never possible before. Well I'll be d*mned, two screens are better than one. An awesome library of games plus an innovative experience will help insure the DS's place in videogame history greatness. The PSP remains the swiss army knife jack of all mutimedia trades. While its games continue to push graphically what should not be possible on a handheld, what really made be stop and have one of those "holy crap, this is amazing" moments was when I popped in Socom: FTB and hopped online. I remember putting on my mic and asking, "Hey, can anybody hear me?", then somebody replied, "Yeah". F-r-e-a-k-i-n-g......awesome! The 360 launched a whole new era of gaming. Microsoft did their homework with this console and it shows. Live Arcade is so fun. The potential there is unbelievable. I can go on & on of how great the 360 is, but te secret weapon here is achievements and gamerscore. All of a suddden, I want to complete games and replay games. All this for that box to popup, saying "Achievement Unlocked". I tell ya, when that box pops up, it is so bittersweet. I've even subscribed to Live (I didn't do that with the previous X-Box). I heart the X-Box 360. Now put all of that together and it's not hard to see that we are in gaming heaven right now. Oh yeah did I forget to mention that the Revolution and PS3 are coming out later this year?
