I wish people would have to log in with their gaming accounts before being able to give feedback on how accurate or inaccurate a review is...
That said, I’m working my way through this now and so far, it’s been fun. Combat is engaging (imo more demanding than SoR4), the humor has been fairly on and the art style grows on you.
The most glaring issue is the lack of an online co-op option. The game length isn’t amazing either so i know I’ll be done with it soon.
I think a 7 or 8 might be more fitting but I can see why some would give this a 6
Halo 5 did a great job of keeping the core MP free of Bs, while balancing micros in Warzone and giving all post launch content (maps and modes) as free. So I have no reason to assume they will lose their minds for Halo Infinite.
If they do it wrong, it will kill the series which is already on thin ice. So for Ms’s sake, I hope they play it smart.
Loot boxes and micros aren’t the same, per se. micros are fine if done right (want this skin? Pay this amount). Loot boxes are awful games of chance and are designed to gouge a fan base for as much as it can, playing on their love of said title. Loot boxes need to go but micros if done right are fine.
I just checked metacritic and it shows an average between 78-83 (depending on platform). So given the fact this one review is in some cases over 2 points less than the industry norm, I’m guessing there is something inaccurate about the review.
I don’t know if this reviewer was burned out on the series compared to others or if he just had an axe to grind. But to those who look to gamespot for their reviews, you may want to check out other reviews to get an outside opinion given just how wildly out of line the score is compared to other professional reviewers.
I’m glad it won May. It was an affordable game that shirked the 60 dollar model. And it was some of the most fun I’ve had in co-op in some time. It definitely had some bugs. But not bad enough to damper a fun experience for me, wifey and our friends.
