Hi folks @ gamespot. This is my first post. I'm here to talk about my experience on games. So here goes... Current platform: X360 (happened to have it as I didn't actually buy it) I understand gaming can be a time consuming activity. So I always look for originality and gameplay in games. When it comes to originality of games it often reminds me of the old titles. You know the so called golden age of gaming (for me circa 1998-2003). I think gameplay is Everything and I can tell people all have their own preferences. Graphics is only skin deep. I love cutting edge graphics but once you see it with your own eyes on some hdtv that's about it. Sound design is not the most important factor for a good game but I always appreciate it as much as graphics. (Voice acting by some famous actors in fallout 3 can't save the game though. Honestly I think the game is pretty dull.) Replayability to me is a bonus to a great game. As a film lover, story is a big factor for me. This is my special preference. I know good story within good game can be hard to come by. So 'background' and artistic design is the selling point for me. For example, I prefer killzone series (the world, gun design) to gears of war series. Mafia instead of GTA. Some of my favorite games: System shock 2, Omikron Nomad Soul, Legend of Zelda OoT, Halo, Metal Gear Series, Half life. Currently playing: RE5: Just started playing. So far so good. Hate the control though (character can't move while aiming/firing...) SF4: Brings back some childhood memories :) Dead Space: Surprisingly good. My new favorite game of all time. Tracking: Riddick: Dark Athena: Love the original one. Best gun fight in a game to date. Hope this will be as good or even better! Mafia 2: Go see the screenshots and imagine with the grandeur of the first one... Games I want: Killzone 2, MGS4, GT5, LittleBigPlanet, God of war 3, specially mention 2 games from Quantic Dream: Omikron 2 & Heavy Rain. So you see I might buy a ps3. A sidenote, I think the Wii franchise titles are great games too. Xbox 360 just happened to become the least preferred platform for me. Not to be rude, I think current gaming industry is like Hollywood on steroid. In terms of quality and creativity, this industry sucks. This is how I see it. Although once a pc gamer, I no longer play games on it that much (reasons being high maintenance, high cost). I do have 3 indie titles which are great games to me. I have a dell xps 1330 which has integrated graphic. These games run fine on it: World of Goo, Audiosurf, Defcon. For desktop I have a mac which has OSX installed only. So maybe I'll wait for diablo 3 lol. Anyone of you know any precious gem yet to be released pls let me know. thanks :)
