The only thing great about it is the PIP feature (which nobody will use because nobody is going to kill online bandwidth in order to watch their friends game, especially if playing online or streaming a movie or whatever), other then that... who cares? Some things were sped up via the SSD but do you like how in the video they still fast forwarded all the loading and other hoops you had to jump through to get into a match? Wonder if it has to do with the non-sensical party system? hmm.
OOOOkkkkk... cool one good thing even though the 2FA setup is non-existent in the Settings. Everyone is pissed because a variety of things but mainly because they packaged up an update all in the name of backwards compatible play and cross party play. (PS4 + PS5) and it is unstable, riddled with bugs, and stripped a lot of the core functionality that the PS4 had in order to dumb it down to be on par with their new systems User Interface. They threw avatars and pointless additions into the update to distract from features they felt were not as important as they truly are that they were stripping out. Sony has wildly changed the inner workings of the party system, stripped public parties and community parties, stripped private communities, forced message groups, made the creation of parties more difficult, made adding players to an existing party impossible, and a ton more that will be listed in these links. This system update not only stripped functions it made the PS4 slower, more unstable, and less user friendly. There have been issues with controllers desyncing mid gameplay, error codes, bricked consoles, slower UI, you name it. This update is complete utter trash. It’s highly likely that the features being stripped are the features the team at Sony could not accomplish in time for Sony to get that Xmas cash.
ON TOP of all this they created the ability for your own friends to report you to Sony with recorded party chat audio so Sony can moderate it. Yes, Sony is not recording party chats they just gave that ability to the players. This way they don’t have to spend any of their precious money, they can have the players be the initial moderators and hire less upper level Sony moderators. Either way Sony is getting those recordings whether they initiated the recording or some ahole from your party initiated it. Sony recording players chatting was never the issue. Then the next day to turn anger into excitement they show the PS5 UI…. but by all means let's chat about 2FA which is 10 years late.
